Innocence is not overrated. If you think it is either you have no children or you don't appreciate them if you do.

Living Jesus, we pump or children full of growth hormones via industrial meat, milk, and cheese, hastening puberty dramatically in an adult-created society that is flooded with uncouth expressions of human sexuality, and then there are folks like you who sweep it all under the rug with "Innocence is overrated."

Too much information is at least as undesirable as too little.

I could say Lord is more powerful than that Jesus.

I have grown children, I told them the truth, I didn't lie to them about Santa Claus and Jesus and God and all the other baloney that people tell their kids to make them easier to manage.
One's in college now and the others got a PhD.
Knowledge is power, give your kids power, or make them slaves.
Sloughing them off because you find the topic embarrassing only means that they get embarrassed in front of their peers, you're not there when that happens, but it happens.
So I told them the truth whenever they asked, and they asked me a lot of stuff, because they got answers that held up.

You assume way too much. Way too much. That my parenting style was "Easier to manage." That I raised my children to be slaves. That I "sloughed off" all parenting duties because I was embarrassed.

I didn't say answering children's questions honestly was wrong, now did I?

But that's not what we saw in the OP video. We saw indoctrination. We saw children being given too much information.

Embarrassed in front of their peers? I raised my children to say fuck their peers when faced with unasked-for and inappropriate and frankly stupid group pressure.

Did you do differently?
Thanks from Sabcat

Ten year olds could buy their own smart phone if they wanted. Hard work will get their minds right and nothing is more pleasurable than buying your own stuff from the sweat off your brow, including blue jeans and clodhoppers.

A ten year old cannot sign a contract legally.
That would include a contract for cellular phone service.

Get two empty cans and tie a string bottom to bottom and stretch tight, smart phone. There are more than two ways to skin a cat.

edit: Wiping the string with paraffin (candle wax) improves performance.

I've actually done that when I was a little kid. It does not work all that well.
Can't get any porn or it either.

One of my grandsons, only 12 years old, got caught by his dad with porn on his I-phone AND there were sexually explicit texts between him and a 12 year old girl. My son hit the roof and was talking to me about it and i asked my what the fuck my grandson had an I-phone for.
I got this lame bullshit about how he needed to be able to stay in touch for safety's sake, etc, etc. I said that was bullshit, all he needed was a cheap flip phone that he could make phone calls on in an emergency.
He does not NEED internet access, a camera, texting, etc. etc.
Thanks from roastpork, catus felis and kbear

Speaking of 'hitting the roof'.....my sister was six when my father walked into the bathroom without knocking and found that she had discovered that the electric toothbrush made a good vibrator.

Paraffin is necessary. Did you forget about paraffin? Mom found my hidden Playboy Magazines that I paid for which she forced Dad to burn up. In Vietnam I got caught by the Captain with dick in hand, Playboy magazine in the pump room, no less. The Captain closed the door and said, I see nothing but I could have been court martialed.
