One's in college now and the others got a PhD.
Knowledge is power, give your kids power, or make them slaves.
Sloughing them off because you find the topic embarrassing only means that they get embarrassed in front of their peers, you're not there when that happens, but it happens.
So I told them the truth whenever they asked, and they asked me a lot of stuff, because they got answers that held up.
You assume way too much. Way too much. That my parenting style was "Easier to manage." That I raised my children to be slaves. That I "sloughed off" all parenting duties because I was embarrassed.

I didn't say answering children's questions honestly was wrong, now did I?

But that's not what we saw in the OP video. We saw indoctrination. We saw children being given too much information.

Embarrassed in front of their peers? I raised my children to say fuck their peers when faced with unasked-for and inappropriate and frankly stupid group pressure.

Did you do differently?
What you said was that I must not have kids.

And I wasn't directing at you, I was just giving my opinion.
I said, "Innocence is not overrated. If you think it is either you have no children or you don't appreciate them if you do."

A fair portion of all the problems in this world revolve around society's sick sexual "norms.".

The longer children aren't sucked into this, the better. That's my point. You may disagree. That's OK by me.
Thanks from Sabcat

Educating kids is protecting them, by making them less vulnerable.
Keeping them ignorant is making them more vulnerable.

It certainly is as far as children are concerned! Teaching them masturbation is the power of suggestion at it's worst.

No good reason exists to rush losing it.
My father used to explain the rules of the road as we were driving together. Do you figure he wanted his 12 year old son to start taking the car out?

You're making my point catus.

First, we've lowered the onset of puberty with chemicals on and in our food. We know this is happening, but profit drives capitalism so let's not talk about what we know.

Then there's our sex-dripping society, again mainly driven by using sex to sell things, the profit motive again.

So rather than oppose the trends driving our children into making decisions children shouldn't have to make, we consider it good parenting to teach them how to masturbate, and how the other sex masturbates just for good measure.

I am NOT advocating "Just say no," to be clear. I'm asking adults where is your love and your moral backbone? In your example, who's asking why a young teenagers are having sex?

Of course the answer is plain, listed right above, the result of an evermore materialistic society that's driven by making a profit. When the hell will we wake up, and stop this blind rush into a brave new world?
Thanks from Sabcat and Sensible

Probably not, but I bet he flamed his 12-year old's curiosity: What would it be like to drive a car?

It's no different with sex.

There is nothing particularly new about greed.
