Every reference I've ever looked @ puts Fascism on the right of the political spectrum. Fascism typically defines itself as "anti-Marx, anti-Communism, anti-Liberal" (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fascism)

"Fascism /ˈfæʃɪzəm/ is a form of radical authoritarian nationalism,[1][2] characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition and control of industry and commerce,[3] which came to prominence in early 20th-century Europe.[4] The first fascist movements emerged in Italy during World War I before it spread to other European countries.[4] Opposed to liberalism, Marxism and anarchism, fascism is usually placed on the far-right within the traditional left–right spectrum.[5][6][7][4][8][9]

"Fascists saw World War I as a revolution that brought massive changes to the nature of war, society, the state and technology. The advent of total war and the total mass mobilization of society had broken down the distinction between civilians and combatants. A "military citizenship" arose in which all citizens were involved with the military in some manner during the war.[10][11] The war had resulted in the rise of a powerful state capable of mobilizing millions of people to serve on the front lines and providing economic production and logistics to support them, as well as having unprecedented authority to intervene in the lives of citizens.[10][11]"

What else is left for them to be for?

I would wrote "it's now official, caconservative has proven himself to be dishonest, and a pathetic spreader of alternative facts."

But, it's was official long before now.

Who said anything about burning books? The article I glanced @ doesn't say any such thing. The books in question were removed from the curriculum, & apparently won't be discussed in class. But they're both still available to the students for checkout, from what I saw, in the respective school libraries.
Thanks from Hollywood

You skipped your meds, didn't you?

No one burned a book, the books are still in the libraries involved, the kids can still check them out and read them.
I believe teachers can still assign them, they have been removed from the school wide required reading list.

Not quite Stalin's death camps.....

IMO that left right spectrum is terrible and makes no sense whatsoever. Having fascism on the far right and political communism on the far left is just silly. There is very differance between the two.

I prefer anarchism (no government) on the right and fascism/socialism on the left.

Now if we were to use utopian communism as the example on the far left and fascism as far right it would make sense except for the fact that you would have to put socialism/political communism in there and politically it is so close to fascism that they again would have to be placed next to one and other.

True communism is in fact an anarchist theory so that brings us back to anarchy being one side and complete government control being the other be it socialism, fascism or whatever label you want to stick on it.

Removing a book from a student's required reading list is most certainly not the same thing as banning a book. By far. Or even censuring one, for that matter.

Indeed, the students in question can still have access to and read said books in their entirety if they want to.

(And, I'd add, all this recent publicity about that act by that school district might result in the side effect of more students actually being interested in reading said books and finding out what this hubbub is all about...rather than those students feeling that they are forced to read said books.)
Thanks from Hollywood
