The point is that a dedicated, diligent and motivated group of relatively untrained (a Militia) with inferior weapons can stand up to and frustrate an advanced Army... .History has proven it...
Still has nothing to do with the government’s right to regulate any militia the choose to regulate. You argument has nothing to do with constitutionality.

What Government??... Federal??....NO....State?? Maybe...

Read the 2nd Amendment....the Federal Government is explicitly prohibited from regulating State Militias....

Hell, your post was an example of smart-ass nitwittery. You expected a respectful response? Why?
The discussion was about the comments of a SPECIFIC older man who some here have claimed is senile.

Ever a major battle between the U.S. forces and the Viet Minh and/or NVA where half of the Viet Minh and/or NVA ground forces were regular Russian or Chinese troops?
Nooooo.....
Close the half of the "American" forces that forced Cornwallis's surrender were French regulars. And the navy that prevented Cornwallis from escaping by sea or receiving reinforcements or supplies from England was a French Navy and not an American one.

It simply does not matter. The discussion was about ONE specific man and not about anyone else. Your question is completely illogical. It does not matter in the least if some unknown and unspecified "powerful senile old man" could have profound influence when we are talking about this ONE SPECIFIC man.

Yes, by all means, go do something that you might actually be competent in.

So, the question is should we repeal the 2nd amendment or not?

The appearance is, Stevens says yes. My thought, it is obviously stupid. From what i can gather, the rest of us are arguing about history and semantics.

Oh well.. this country hasn't created a new criminal underclass in a while. So, why not repeal it, ban guns and turn a bunch of law abiding citizens into criminals and start chunking them into jails right next to drug users. Lord knows no organizations or foreign entities wont spring up from our mess and make billions off of this boondoggle.

For the umpteenth time, this country is not like any other on the planet. Not because we're exceptional, but because we hate being told what to do!
Thanks from Sabcat and Jimgorn
