You mean crossing the Delaware only succeeded because it was a surprise attack ?

One thing learned from the ME conflicts is that it is not necessary to defeat the Army, just spread enough chaos, terror, etc. among the civilian population as to make it impossible for the government to govern effectively and panic the civilian population to the point they cannot resist the political pressure to settle the conflict.
It's a joke to think lightly armed civilians could match a professional Army in open armed conflict.
Yep. What these wannabe's don't realize is that the pen is mightier than the sword. It's not the weapons that the government controls. It's the messaging that the government controls. The government has the ability to turn the majority of the population against these morons. They will simply be ratted out by the friends, family, neighbors, coworkers, etc., until enough of them are rounded up, there weapons confiscated, or in some cases pried from their cold dead hands. Until the rest of them watch in horror on national television, internet, radio, news papers, and begin to cower in their holes, and then realize they have two choices.

Comply, or die.

Because they have no friends, or popular support from the rest of the country.

And that's the end of the redneck delusion of over throwing a tyrannical government.
Thanks from Lyzza

yes, its true. he even had to almost beg his army not to go home when their contracts expired and they were starving and freezing in winter. those two wins were huge, and almost didnt happen, but they did because they were a surprise. otherwise it would have all been over.

the whole struggle is a much better story than just a bunch of tough guys with a lot of guns killing off an oppressive empire. that sounds like Hollywood garbage to me......
Thanks from Camelot

Hint: You clearly don’t get the joke because you haven’t been following the conversation. It seems that last week’s “Ya’ll” is this weeks “Good golly”. Nice of you to join us. We lost a poster yesterday and were in need of a good replacement.
Thanks from Lyzza
