There's been a long standing campaign here in Oz: Slip, Slop, Slap.

Slip on a shirt, slop on sun block and slap on a hat. These TV, radio and poster commercials are everywhere.....

I think they talked about that in the Borat movie.

To defend Michael Jackson, he had a skin condition called vitiligo. Vitiligo is where the skin cells stop producing skin color or melanin. I know because I have this condition. Fortunately for me, I am so white that you really cannot see it unless you look and I do my level best to try to stay out of the sun.

I did not get it until I was around 30 when I noticed a small spot the size of a dime on my right hand and me wondering what the hell that was and then it slowly spread.

Darker skinned people, such as blacks, having this is hideous, even at the stage of my skin. So MJ went the only avenue he could and had doctors (I dont know how, but....) change his skin color to correspond with the vitiligo.

I get annoyed when I hear people state that MJ wanted to be white, or he did it because he was a weirdo (he was) or some such nonsense than what really happened. MJ is also not the only African American/European..whatever (BLACK PERSON) to go through this route.

I don't believe micheal ever had the skin condition you describe. it was a lie to cover up his attempt to turn himself white.

Who cares what you believe about it? He in fact had vitiligo. He didn't need to make himself white, he had no problem being black and was proud of being black.

You speak of black pride with respect, what about white pride?

But, honestly, no one is proud to be black, and that's the difference.

Micheal Jackson's plastic surgery to look caucasian had nothing to do with any alleged disease. Jackson could have used makeup to cover up his skin patches, while retaining his natural color.

If you look at MJ between the albums "Off the Wall" and "Thriller" he was actually quite handsome. I remember when he did a show in my hometown and there were thralls of girls screaming for him.

The plastic surgery stuff started after he got his hair caught on fire in that Pepsi commercial. This was actually a much more serious injury than is widely known, and there had to be some cosmetic repair to fix the damage, and this is when MJ went down the too much plastic surgery road. Complicate that with the vitiligo, and there was a reinvention of the guy's face. It went too far and after he was accused of being a child molester, he basically went overboard.

Funny, how we heap scorn on him on the myth that he wanted to be white, yet we celebrate these freaks who come out of the closet who want to change their sex (which is impossible). No one tells these people that they are mentally ill and need psychological help. But if I, as a white person decide to be Chinese and try to go through a physical process, I would be committed. Double standards.

People use the word "race"...ethnicity by ethnicity. There are no different races. Just one. Different genes fight out whatever the end result (you) is. Maybe this abnormality is melanin at war?

Look...we humans are where it's at. We are it. There are no "others" out there. And I like us. In time to come...after we get things right here...we'll move out there and come to be known as The Ancients. And we'll all be Republicans, too...

Tomorrow will tell....remember to get out and vote because talk (here) is cheap.
