Is Pat Robertson Losing It?

You know, I was surprised at first that nobody made a big deal out of his latest episode of verbal incontinence, but in a way I'm glad, because it means most people don't take him seriously anymore. Not that they ever should have---the guy is nuttier than a squirrel---but now it seems that the public has finally realized that he's not even living on the same planet.

However, I have to wonder if the increasingly bizarre nature of his latest pronouncements is due to the development of some sort of organic brain disease, like Alzheimer's. It's certainly not unusual in a man his age; delusions are common, and personalities become distorted. While Robertson has never been what I'd consider a paragon of reason, he is now an embarrassment---to his church, to his acolytes in the U.S. government, and to anyone who even remotely considers him/herself a Christian.

Please, somebody take this poor man to the doctor and get him on some Aricept (OK, I was really thinking Valium, but I'm being charitable).......anyone with the courage to do so will undoubtedly have the thanks of a grateful nation.

Well, what is the latest thing he said?

The thing about Hugo Chavez?

Who knows.

For someone who's supposed to be so nutty, he doesn't seem to have any problem raking in the money.

Or giving it out. His charitable outfit was a huge help after Katrina.

LOL

I missed that one,

"CNN) -- Television evangelist and Christian Coalition founder Pat Robertson's suggestion that a nuclear device should be used to wipe out the State Department was "despicable," department spokesman Richard Boucher said Thursday..."

Maybe he keeps cranking this stuff out to keep himself on peoples minds. Maybe it is a case of *crazy like a fox*.

Yeah, but even you anti-religious fanatics here have to admit that Robertson is not any nuttier than most of the talking heads and wonks on TV.
