What is it that you find "crappy" about this article? It's portrayal of religious poeple as blind followers? I can understand that, however that is likely how the nonbeliever views religious people.

What do I find "crappy" about it?

1. It's stupid and elementary. I could get just about any 3rd-grader to write up exactly the same kind of tripe about the Theory of Evolution.

2. It totally ignores the over-arching history of mankind's quest for the transcendant - a quest that is undeniable, even to a person like Tadpole who is totally confused and searching.

3. It completely ignores what happens when people live "each to his own end" without any trascendent thought, religion or quest. Think about that one for awhile, and get to me about the atheistic tyrants of history like Stalin, Hitler, etc.

I don't think this article meant to make comment on the history of religion, only the difficulty a non-religious person has accepting religion.

I might add that pretty much all tyrannical kings believed their power came from religion. Though the same might be said of benevolent kings.
