Trump wants business to take over space station ...

Quote:
Trump wants business to take over space station from NASA by 2025

The Trump administration wants NASA out of the International Space Station by 2025, and private businesses running the place instead.

Under President Donald Trump's 2019 proposed budget released Monday, U.S. government funding for the space station would end by 2025. The government would set aside $150 million US to encourage commercial development.

Many space experts are expressing concern. Senator Bill Nelson, a Florida Democrat who rocketed into orbit in 1986, said "turning off the lights and walking away from our sole outpost in space" makes no sense.
The death of scientific/technological leadership occurring before our eyes.

The 0.1 percent won't be happy until they've stolen everything from the people and we're reduced to being serfs.

People DIED constructing the ISS. Would that be figured into the sale price.

How can we endure three more years of this shit?
Thanks from Hollywood

And once again RNG is proven a liar.

Trump did not propose a PRIVATE SECTOR TAKE OVER OF THE SPACE STATION.

Trump proposed the Private Sector should have access to the Space Station for R and D.. and by doing so help with the funding and expansion of the Station taking much of the burden off the Russian and US Taxpayer.

and then IT jumps behind his lead lemming

so Thanks RNG for being the most uninformed person on this Forum well except for a couple.

RNG provided a link to support his position.
Let's see your link that supports yours.

His own link says that he is mistaken..

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/nasa-st...space-station/

Quote:
"The decision to end direct federal support for the ISS in 2025 does not imply that the platform itself will be deorbited at that time -- it is possible that industry could continue to operate certain elements or capabilities of the ISS as part of a future commercial platform," according to a draft summary of NASA's ISS Transition Report required by Congress in the agency's 2017 Authorization Act.
"NASA will expand international and commercial partnerships over the next seven years in order to ensure continued human access to and presence in low Earth orbit," said the summary, obtained by CBS News. It was earlier outlined by the Verge and The Washington Post

PRIVATE SECTOR ROLE in the station NOT CONTROL..

The Government retains CONTROL..

Thanks for playing.
Thanks from Sabcat

your link says greater role, not control.

Once again TN Volunteer has to point out your level of uninformed posting

This is to allow private sector to have access to the station and to fund the station freeing up NASA Funding to begin focusing on more deep space missions.

I guess "funding for the space station would end by 2025" means something different to the confused.
Thanks from Hollywood

Yep.. and NASA would LEASE the space station for funding instead of TAXPAYER DOLLARS..

I Guess Lease is above the range of your vocabulary

Government funding will end. NOT GOVERMMENT CONTROL.

THERE is a difference.

the term Lease seems to be above Hollywood's range of vocabulary.

I have noticed something. it is not what is said or the accuracy of what is said.. Many people thank something based on who says what to whom.

for example RNG just totally misrepresented what is proposed for the space station.

I correct his inaccuracies, Hollywood thanks RNG because RNG doubles down on his incorrect assumption in response to me.
