I don't know where liberals and conservatives are these days on issues that used to be considered part of the common good, but it seems to me that we all have a stake in improving the outcomes for children..all children/ not just our own kids!

I don't know what you mean by "everyone is exactly where they want to be" cause that sure as hell isn't what I hear these days!

I feel lucky that I grew up and came of age at a time when you didn't have to spend years in college and/or university to have the chance at a decent job! Used to be that, if you wanted out of school as fast as you could fly, you could still earn a decent living if you could work with your hands...and that sure as hell isn't the case for young people coming up today. Even most manufacturing and construction trades aren't paying what they used to!
coke rides the ocean blue and must be on the other side of the planet writing so early in the morning. People who have excellent hand to eye coordination always succeed no matter what they do, with a dash of brains thrown in.

Statistics are dry and cold! And you ignored other possible correlating factors because you want to vilify what you consider loose women and their "little bastards!"
Yes statistics and facts tend to be dry and cold. Way to much emotional reasoning while ignoring logic. Sure there is factors. Widows from war, or a car wreck. All kinds of variables that can cause a single parent household. A stable home setting would have things in place though usually. Such as insurance. But, were not talking about them now are we. You just keep moving that goal post because you cant defend the hard truth that there is to many single mom welfare queens living it up on the taxpayers dime. Whose function in life is to spit out little bastards to increase their base pay.

You can't play a bloody martyr while attacking women and children living in poverty...regardless of how or why they are in those circumstances. You just want someone to blame/but don't want it be considered cruel for some reason.
There is always someone to blame. But, your into the blame the environment thing and not the individual. That shit became popular in the 70's. News flash. Your a woman. You get pregnant. You want the right to choose got it. You want free birth control. Got it. But, now you want someone else to pay for your lifestyle choice? Fuck you. As far as baby daddy. Sure, make him pay, if he can. Odds are between the two of them the still can not afford the little bastard. So, yes there is always someone to blame.

Neither you nor I know subjectively what it's like to be a woman or live as a woman today..especially a female growing up and coming of age in miserable circumstances. I'll gladly keep paying my taxes to support a system...that regardless of how leaky and bureaucratic...provides the basic services for everyone. What I don't want is my tax dollars going to reward fucktard investors collecting business and tax "incentives" before they open a small manufacturing operation that pays near minimum wages to their workers. Those are the kinds of bums I want to give a kick in the ass!
Totally moved the goal post on that one.

My wife wanted me to drive her to the grocery store today, she said it was a short list.

We got into the car and added another store to the trip. Sigh

She filled the cart at the store.

No one wants the right wing solutions to social problems! Arbitrary, unbending religiously-based codes of laws that re still wreaking havoc on the poorest and most vulnerable segments of society.

You know as well as I do that single moms aren't the greatest financial cost...especially in the US where your Government spends billions of dollars of money they don't have to pile on the mountain of debt just to maintain the empire with its bases and expensive war toys. I want to see rightwingers aside from the odd libertarian crank take on that spending issue!

Your #1 priority is making sure the poor don't get anything for free. It's not my priority. Look at the total financial and social costs of a system and compare them. I'm glad we finally have leaders who are considering guaranteed income plans. They've been fought for decades because so many are worried that someone might get something for free, that they can't examine the evidence that social welfare costs, health costs and other costs..like to the criminal justice system would be lower with a guaranteed minimum income for everyone....and no I'm sure I wouldn't qualify for it personally!

I never mentioned religion. You have built another straw man that does not exist. My solution has been totally opposite of any sense of a traditional religion. My idea is cold and based on facts. Religion would be more toward your way of thinking.

Which is another straw man that has nothing to do with single parent households. But, if it makes you feel better, I personally agree. For instance, there was a post about Russian fly-overs of baltic states. My idea is the Baltic states should do something about that. Seems to me most of the "liberals" demand the US jump into the fray! It brings me great joy watching the liberals and ex hippies become full fledged neocons. All because they go mad because they lost. Ok, there I went on a off subject rant. Happy now.

Actually..your not exactly correct on a lot of this. The largest push for a base line income in the US has been from Conservatives. Furthermore I agree with it. But it would have to be a single amount and thats it. No raises or additional money at all. Everyone gets one base amount. They fuck that up then they are on their own. Starve in the streets or whatever. Want to shoot it up your arm fine. Want to spit out little bastards fine. You got one base amount to cover it. Have a nice day.

You're appealing to rule-based divine command morality when you rail against 'single mothers and their little bastards.' If a divorced or unwed mother has the resources to raise her child adequately, your crime stats fall apart! Will a child's prospects be better staying with the mother in a society that provides at least a modest level of support? Or does that child do better if taken away from the mother and thrown into foster care or that orphanage? I want to see how those stats correlate with crime...including physical and sexual abuse, which I can guarantee are very high because that's how the damn reform movements got started in the first place to close orphanages and refrain from taking children out of a home unless there is abuse or the risks of abuse are high.

A military buildup of the Baltic States would also cost US Dollars...just like the military costs of arming Israel, Egypt, Columbia, and every other proxy army around the world that doesn't have billiions of dollars to pay for it.

But all this would have been totally unnecessary if the former Soviet Bloc countries (including the Baltics) weren't brought in under the NATO umbrella. And there would be no Russian missiles or military forces being moved to the Kaliningrad Peninsula to begin with...if not for a certain Nobel Peace Prize-winning president breaking another agreement that NATO forces and missiles wouldn't be moved close to the Russian border.

Now, if I recall, the subject of military spending came up when I mentioned it as the obvious place to look to cut spending, instead of going after social programs and infrastructure.

Conservatives offering to help...on anything raises suspicions! One proposal mentioned giving the money to the state governments and allowing them to distribute it. Sort of raises the specter of Newt Gingrich's proposed Block Grants in his Contract with America back in 94. What would the Feds have written in to guarantee a decent amount of money gets distributed fairly? The other problem is the amount. One conservative talkinghead...I forget which...tossed up $10,000 as a ballpark number. If someone cannot work...for whatever reasons, how the hell could they survive on that?

Whenever any American woman says,

"Do whatever you want, I don't care"

It is always a lie.
