He would have died anyway, though, and I can't see his death compares with the wages stolen from generation after generation of people, adding up to millions and millions of enormous thefts, but good luck with it anyway. Imagine my share of all the English boss class has stolen from us - like huge pyramids of gold!

No, the Confederado who founded the town of Americana in southern Brazil, were just the largest and only culturally integral survivors of more than 20,000 southerners who left the United States to found colonies in South America. Many of those colonies were already started prior to the end of the war. Brazil was still a slave-holding nation, while Mexico was not. So before the War, all the plans of expanding slave plantations to Mexico meant they also planned to overthrow and establish a new government. One of the Confederados...I forget his name, for one brief year from 1857 to 1858, established himself as president of Nicaragua after fighting and removing the government there. He ended up being executed.

Once again, thank you for proving my point. Even a cursory scan of the document reveals the fundamental disagreement and cause of secession emirates from slavery.

Again, please provide evidence that slavery wasn't the principle cause

Jimmyb is correct. The slavery debate only masks the real issue. Which was the struggle for power and control. That does not mean that slavery was irrelevant or insignificant. But, without knowing the sectional power relationship, people tend to overstate its importance. Even Republicans acknowledged that political power was at the root of the debate over slavery. The Supreme Court had already rule in favor of slavery. If that be fact, why secede? What it boiled down to was two different regions enjoying two different lifestyles. The North being industrial, and the South being agrarian. The opening of new territory, soon to become states would, in the South's view, culminate in the loss of power in Washington. The South then decided that if the North was to dominate politically, secession was the only alternative.

I do agree that power was shifting but you can't seriously be suggesting that was the reason for secession!! The only reason why that power shift was a threat or worry is because the south knew its days of slavery would soon be over

The South already new that slavery was on the way out. The abolitionist movement was gaining power in the South. There were more abolitionist groups in the South, than the North. It was a Southern Court that ruled in favor of Dread Scott, and the Supreme Court overruled that decision. The general consensus among Confederate soldiers was, they were not fighting for slavery, if that were the case they would not have taken up arms. They certainly were not going to die for some slaveholders right to slavery. For them, it was about Northern political aggression. The Confederate states believing they were "sovereign state-nations" who had the right to secede from a government that was not addressing their needs.
