I'm not remotely surprised - "Out" is a very activist magazine. It's not an outrageous statement for them to make.

I would never (and have never) broken a friendship over political allegiances - but people can make their own choices about what parts of a friendship are important to them and make their own decisions. If they feel that strongly about Trump and don't want to be around anybody who supports him, then breaking off a friendship would be the only way to do that.

It's all (to me) incredibly childish and petty - almost as much as some of the stuff you can read here on DTT.
