Disturbing

The balance of reason, sanity, and common sense has been skewed for many years but managed to hold on with enough torque to refrain from toppling.

Until now.

Seven of our bravest, smartest marines and a navy corpsman are being held at Camp Pendleton in conditions not even afforded to the vilest of terrorist detainees at Guantanamo Bay. These men had the good sense to defend themselves in a decisive manner; they proved they understand the enemy in Iraq and they know the tricks and cowardly things the enemy does. These marines are the kind of men we need in this war; the kind of men General Patton would likely have been proud of.

Generals in our history understood the best way to execute a war was to dominate the enemy and perform swift lethal intimidating strikes. A good general from WWII would have entered Iraq with planes and bombs before ever sending in the ground troops. Fallujah would have been leveled in the early days of the war and to hell with the damn mosques that may have been blown to hell along with the rest of the town. The current philosophy of sending in the ground troops to move door-to-door would have been labeled insane during WWII and those who labeled it such would have been absolutely right.

Our soldiers in Iraq are fighting this war the best way they are allowed by the politically correct idiot generals, Rumsfeld, and President Bush. These brave men and women are handcuffed and not able to do the things necessary to protect themselves, their fellow soldiers, and the non-fighting citizens of Iraq. The majority of servicemen likely understand that a common tactic used by Iraqi terrorists and terrorists from other countries who have been given the PC-label of 'insurgents' is to often hide behind women and children when they attack. The cowardly terrorists will fire shots at our soldiers while hiding behind a group of women and children or -- as in this case a disabled man -- using their perceived innocence like a shield.

We have read accounts of this behavior many times. We have also read accounts of brainwashing children into thinking they want to be martyrs and strap bombs to their bodies in efforts to take out as many infidels as possible when they blow themselves up. We know these sub-human cowards will use any ruse to trick the coalition forces into thinking they must not fire on 'innocent women and children', while they are firing at our soldiers. We now have irrefutable proof that our idiots in high command would rather see our soldiers killed because they are ordered not to fire on people that look like non-combatants, rather than see our enemy defeated in the best means possible.

Could it be the exaggerated, repetitive, unending media whine about the treatment of terrorist prisoners in Guantanamo and Abu Graib that has our leaders acting and looking like PC cowards and sheep, driven by the liberal media more than common sense? Could it be that our military leaders are so concerned about covering their own asses from perceived 'war crimes' that they are willing to sell out our soldiers on the ground in terms of their freedom and their lives?

The actions taken against eight brave Navy men this past week are inexcusable.

We've heard President Bush issue apologies to the Iraqi civilians for the actions of our marines in a separate incident BEFORE THERE IS ANY EVIDENCE TO PROVE THEY DID WRONG!

Have their been any ballistics tests performed? No.

Have their been any angle of bullet entry reports issued? No.

Have their even been any charges filed yet? No.

In the case of these 8 soldiers, they are accused BY THE ENEMY of killing an innocent civilian and setting up the remains to look like he was digging to plant a roadside bomb. Sound familiar? The enemy also accuses our soldiers of firing on civilian women and children (in a separate incident) for no reason. A traitorous Time/Life reporter first reported that story and he takes the word of our enemy over the words of our own soldiers. (He is also the one that wrote a sympathetic piece about the life of a 'freedom fighter' in Iraq.)

Yet these marines are now held in Camp Pendleton IN LEG IRONS AND SHACKLES! They are accused, but not yet charged and are being treated worse than our prisoners at Guantanamo or our home-grown cold-blooded murderers! These men are in 24 hour solitary confinement, in shackles 24 hours, and they have no release from the metal even when they have their one hour per day walk outside. A guard holds the back of the shackle that is around the marine's waist. Yes. These men are in leg irons and their hands are cuffed with the cuffs being linked to a band around their waists. THE LAWYER FOR ONE MARINE HAS SPOKEN PUBLICLY AND TOLD US THERE HAVEN'T EVEN BEEN ANY CHARGES FILED YET!

These men deserve to be decorated, not shackled and treated worse than we treat the scum terrorists at Guantanamo Bay. Yes, those muslims receive muslim-specified foods and they have prayer mats and 6 times per day to pray and they can talk to one another and they can have their korans -- and if anyone even touches their koran they can raise a fuss and ... here's the incredible part ... their complaints are listened to and acted upon!

The situation in our government is worse than I understood, until now.

This treatment of our soldiers is inexcusable and I will write to my Senators and I will write to the White House and I will write letters of support for these soldiers. How dare they treat these men in this manner?

The real situation in Iraq villages and towns is not often reported.

From The Guardian, August, 2005 --

"A three-day visit by a reporter working for the Guardian last week established what neither the Iraqi government nor the US military has admitted: Haditha, a farming town of 90,000 people by the Euphrates river, is an insurgent citadel."

*snip*

"Two groups share power. Ansar al-Sunna is a largely homegrown organisation, though its leader in Haditha is said to be foreign. Al-Qaida in Iraq, known locally by its old name Tawhid al-Jihad, is led by the Jordanian-born Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. There was a rumour that Zarqawi, Washington's most wanted militant after Osama bin Laden, visited early last week. True or not, residents wanted to believe they had hosted such a celebrity."

*snip*

"DVDs of beheadings on the bridge are distributed free in the souk. Children prefer them to cartoons. "They should not watch such things," said one grandfather, but parents appeared not to object.

One DVD features a young, blond muscular man who had been disembowelled. He was said to have been a member of a six-strong US sniper team ambushed and killed on August 1. Residents said he had been paraded in town before being executed."

http://www.guardian.co.uk/Iraq/Story...553969,00.html

The terrorists that are controlling Haditha hide or leave the town when the coalition troops come in. They wait until the troops leave, then they return.

I put no faith in statements about events involving our troops when they come from the residents from a town occupied by terrorists. It is unconscionable to take their words over the words of our own soldiers and I am shocked that President Bush has issued statements of apology before the investigation and facts have been presented.

What galls me is that these men are being portrayed by our president as being guilty before there is a trial, being promised punishment before the trial, being found guilty by the White House in the media. These men did nothing wrong! The only thing they did wrong was fight Dumbya's war, on Dumbya's terms. Now he's turned his back on them and in my opinion, the country. I think Dumbya is a traitor of the worst kind, and should be thrown in legirons and shackles himself- he and all his self-aggrandizing "Big Business" buddies.

I was happy to see this article that summarizes the discrepancies found in the 'witness' reports regarding the incident in Haditha late last year.

**Snip**

"Time did a ten week investigation of this story and if you search it, none of these witnesses existed. Not Al-Hadithi, Safa Younis, or the lawyer Khaled Salem Rsayef. Now, not only are they bringing out videos, they are claiming to have lived next door. And the MSM is splashing their stories all over the place. This is obscene.

It also appears as though the names of the people in the second home have been changed to match the lawyers last name and one eyewitness said it was the male owner's sister - another said it was his wife's sister. The body count has changed twice and suddenly the girl on video appeared."

"W" stands for War. "W" stands for Wastefulness. "W" stands for Wiretapping. It's as simple as A B C: "W" does not stand for America!

Shouldn't we make it a point to fully investigate this situation. Whether or not the charges are determined to be founded the people of Iraq will be seriously %$# off if we assume that because they are Marines they make good choices! I have known too many marines to believe that! (Now watch as I get flamed)
