Capturing Mosul

Donald Trump says he could teach military leaders "a couple of things" about how to win a war. In fact Trump said this: I know more about ISIS than the generals do, believe me." But DOES HE??

The Iraqi Army has entered Mosul for the first time in over two years at the start of a battle which is likely to end in a decisive defeat for Isis. The significance of the fight for Mosul will be all the greater for Isis because its self-declared caliph, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, is believed to be still inside the city, a senior Kurdish official has told The Independent.
Latest developments
Iraqi security forces shot dead two ISIS suicide bombers in al Intisar, the military says
Troops combing the neighborhood have detonated at least six car bombs
Heavy airstrikes and artillery shelling targeted northern Mosul, witnesses say
Hundreds of civilians poured out as clashes intensified
Coalition warplanes hit an ISIS convoy, a bridge, an IED factory and two tunnels, US members of the operation say
This could be the final push against ISIS.

What does Trump (who knows more than all the generals) say?? "Why can't they win first and talk later? Why do they have to say three months before the attack, we're going in?"
The main problem with Donald Trump's criticism of the operation to retake Mosul from ISIS militants is not that his remarks are unpresidential though they are, especially when he calls the operation a "total disaster" only a week into the fight.
The main problem with his critique is that it shows, again, that the man who claims to know "more about ISIS than the generals do" actually knows nothing about military strategy.

Trump knows absolutely nothing about military strategy - Business Insider

What a fucking idiot.

I'm surprised that any military members would support this guy after these kinds of statements.

If you've never had military experience and didn't have extensive training for many years, then you don't know jack about fighting a war. There's a reason I have to go through four years of school and military training before I even qualify as the lowest level of the officer corps. And after that I'll have to continue to constantly learn and train before I even get a chance for promotion.
