The last DDG I served on was USS Waddell DDG-24 and they all look the same in the Adams Class. Beautiful pic of a man-o-war.

Things have changed and now they cover up the armaments in stealth mode with no right angles. Flank speed was 40 knots on an Adams class guided missile destroyer if you include the ocean current. 40 Knots and No Smoke was DDG-24 motto. The Zumwalt cannot approach 40 knots and can't keep up with an aircraft carrier.

"A Destroyer"

"A destroyer is a lovely ship, probably the nicest fighting ship of all. Battleships are a little like street cities or factories of destruction. Aircraft carriers are floating flying fields. Even cruisers big pieces of machinery, but the destroyer is all boat. In the beautiful lines of her, speed and roughness, in the curious gallantry she is completely a ship, in the old sense." John Steinbeck

More and more modern ships will force USNavy to new community. Ships from 70 and 80 will been destroy. New destroyes will replace old from 70s and 80s for sure. Only new destroyers will go all in of USNavy. Just over 60 new ships will force up USNavy. 400+ ships in the Naval. Less than Coast Guard how has many boats and many warrior in south sea in Americas.
Thanks from Twisted Sister

Sinkex was held off the coast of Hawaii where my old destroyer was shot with everything imaginable. The best they could do was cut it in half but still floated. The Navy was astonished and had to send people on board to scuttle the boat. Somers did not get turned into razor blades and rests in Davy Jones Locker.
