Of course I did, and no not now. Your anecdotal experiences while admirable, do not change my opinion.

Not now? As in you used to, or will be soon?

You need to open your mind.

Used to, my mind is fine right where it's at, your judgement notwithstanding.

Some things are obvious. Men are larger and stronger than women so yes. They can carry heavier loads. They can probably carry a 200 pound man out of harm's way, but can female mechanics in aircraft, for example, squeeze into smaller spaces? Lead patrols? Work as a gunner? Secure valuable intelligence by speaking to Afghan women who won't speak to men? Work undercover?

There are plenty of jobs in the military, including combat units: snipers, drive tanks, fire mortars, lead, strategize. Women can most certainly do well in those positions.
Women should stay in the kitchen rattling those pots and pans. Women are well equipped for clerical duty. Give women a buntline special and watch out.

Okay. If you had never served then I would have told you to shut up. Those who aren't a part of the military community don't get to talk about it.

Those who have never served need to get off this thread NOW.

Hey locke, long time you no post. I know you are still in there and did not get washed out. How long before you make Canadian 2ed Lieutenant, infantry? I hope that when you graduate you do not get a bucket of animal blood poured over your head.

Just started my third year at RMC, so two more years before I'm a 2Lt. Three more before I finish training and join my regiment. The hope is 2nd Mechanized Battalion, Royal Canadian Regiment, based in Gagetown, New Brunswick.
Thanks from Twisted Sister

What is battalion strength being an old sea dog myself? Did you shift to armor when you say mechanized? I am a genius in fire control if you want to learn from a person who is reasonably sober.
