In a sick twisted way, I almost hope your condescending crap about women being unable to fight was true and that modern militaries are being debilitated by recruiting women. Though I suspect the truth has nothing to do with women's capabilities, but a general difference between what men and women are willing to fight for!

Looking back in deep history, most violence that occurred in early communities that had to move frequently were resolved through traditions of dispute-resolution methods...as described by anthropologists studying the last wild tribes in Africa, Asia and South America prior to civilization rolling over them. During the last few thousand years of recorded history...when thanks to settled agriculture, permanent ruling hierarchies, herding livestock, and fighting on horseback, the world suddenly became much more violent and defense of permanent settlements from invaders was always something that had to be prepared for.

From the Roman records over a span of several centuries we have learned that as the Empire expanded and encroached on Celtic, Germanic, Thracian and other 'barbarian' territories, that if Roman scouts found a village undefended (no men of fighting age present) they were more often than not confronted by women of fighting age who had done at least some amount of training with swords, spears, axes and clubs in a desperate attempt to defend the children, infirm and the elderly of the community....and in general today, this is when women believe that warfare is justified and worthwhile today!

Young men through the ages have been easily talked into seeking glory and valor on the battlefield and other heroic horseshit, but the same motivations don't grab women in the same way and I hope they never do! So if women will dilute or diminish your dreamed of fighting force -- I'm all for it!

Your own link says the crew of that ship was 1,250 sailors, 360 of which were women. You STILL going to claim that 36 PG women amount to "more than a third of the ship's crew?'
Hint: 1/3 of 1,250 is 416.66.
36 is not even more than " more than 1/3" of the 360 female member of the crew, it's 10%.
That was just the beginning, the pregnancies continued.

The one hard number is from Daily Wire again. But still a long way from 1/3 unless you do math like TNV.
Thanks from Lyzza

look at all the other instances in history where women were capable, and willing, and were denied their chance. by men. men who said 'this is a mans job'. its rarely been the right thing to do.

for the record, this is just how i feel about it and i am happy to agree to disagree if thats where we end up. this certainly isnt an issue to fall out over.
It's not a matter of what's OK, or of what some women may be capable of doing. I said, and stand on, it's not a desirable path forward for women to be put in combat, nothing to brag about, and something to be avoided if at all possible.

And there's a gorilla that won't go away. Some men, in olden times called the warrior class, are FAR more suited for combat for various physical realities. Putting women in combat because "I know you can do that task equally well" is an outgrowth of the "good job" mentality where everyone is a winner. But in reality, some combat situations demand bigger and badder bodies, because everybody isn't a winner.

If ever there was a "man's job," a combat job, with the attendant fighting, maiming, and killing - defines it. It's damned silly to equate women in combat with a step forward in actualizing gender equality.

I'm happy to agree to disagree too.

On the contrary, most are wars of commerce and banking. The US's targets for regime change in this new century...including the ones on the Clown Chief's to do list: North Korea, Iran and Venezuela, just happen to be nations ending the use of the US Dollar internally and in international trading. Just like Saddam had to be removed...not because of war crimes...like using US-supplied poison gas against Kurdish villages in the north, instead of against Iran...NO, it was after he announced Iraq would switch oil trading to the Euro instead of the USD. Then, Dubya had to figure a way to re-direct US forces from Afghanistan to Iraq. Same happened to Gadaffi in 2011 after announcing that Libya was about to use its large gold reserves to set up a Pan-African currency...all of a sudden, even though Libya had agreed to all the terms demanded by the west - to end nuclear research and chemical weapons programs, Gadaffi was double-crossed and liberal humanitarian interventionists today(starting with Hillary) refuse to comment about the aftermath: a destroyed anarchistic society where Islamic extremists fight for turf and even run slave markets in major cities while half the population fled to become refugees!

So, looking at the big picture: is this what you want your son or daughter to sign up for? From my pov imperial wars should be fought by the generals, politicians, war merchants and bankers who profit from them!
Yep, that too.
