There are some industries that need no lobbying power because they have irresistible momentum of their own, concrete and computers/IT are two of them because everyone wants them and nobody can do without.

Computers have been around since the times of the ancients and electromechanical computers have been around shortly after the discovery of electricity. Hewlett-Packard was founded in 1940 and what is considered the birth of the modern electronic computer was created at the University of Pennsylvania in 1943. The richest company in the world is Apple with revenues greater than Exxon-Mobile. Today the combined wealth and revenues of the companies such as Facebook and Google dwarf Big Oil and Big Steel, and yet there is still not much visible lobby. Jeff Bezos just became the richest man in the world, he would be nothing without the internet. Scroll down the list of Forbes 500 richest and see how many are computer/IT. Gates, Allen, Zuckerberg, Ellison, etc.

By the time something is available or known to the common people, researchers and engineers are already working on more than twenty years down the road. Rich people and successful companies all share one trait, they foresaw the future and successfully capitalized upon it.

Let me ask you this, why were the Soviets in Afghanistan? Why did we fund, arm and provide intelligence and training for the Mujahideen in Afghanistan? This is a nation/area that until relatively recently was such a shithole that nobody, including Alexander the Great and Genghis Khan, wanted to help, let alone keep and administer.

In recent times, Afghanistan is valued because it is extremely rich in rare earth and lithium, two things that your smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc cannot do without. Afghanistan is or least can be the Saudi Arabia of lithium once we start to mine.

I don’t need you to explain to me what a computer is, thanks.

Why then is that all the rights to mine there for minerals are being given to China, India and the Afghan government? The same goes for their tiny supply of oil. Besides, these are projected to be useful to the national and international economy only within several decades.

Lastly, I’d assume you also mean to say that 9/11 was an inside job so we could go to Afghanistan right? Because the US was attacked by Al Qaeda from vases of operation in Afghanistan, where they had their HQs, training centres, most of their resources, most of their military intelligence and the beginnings of a criminal network based on opium processing and human trafficking. Since this the case, the only other explanation is conspiracy and I bet you’re one of those yahoos who believes in that nonsense.
Thanks from the Beast

I asked a fucking QUESTION. In order to tell a LIE I would have had to have made a declarative statement than is untrue.
Improve your English if you wish to converse with me.
