This is great news .... for Trump. Just when the seriously flawed Democratic Party needs to pull out all the stops, and pull together, a group of Democrats think it's time to tear it apart.

I have absolutely no use for AOC. She, and her cohorts, are serving their egos rather than their country. They are progressive versions of Donald J. Trump, the "My way or the highway" wing of the Democratic Party.

And they are serving up red meat for Trump to ensure his reelection, but I'm certain their immature egos are completely unaware of what they are doing. The look below says it all.

‘There Is Going to Be a War Within the Party.
We Are Going to Lean Into It.’

Maybe you’ve heard the warning: The country is beset by a menace. A fringe conservative minority is holding Congress hostage, extracting radical policy concessions over the will of the majority. And it’s leading the nation to fiscal, environmental and moral ruin.

Maybe you haven’t heard this part: These dangerous conservatives are Democrats.

“I am talking about the radical conservatives in the Democratic Party,” said Saikat Chakrabarti. “That’s who we need to counter. It’s the same across any number of issues—pay-as-you-go, free college, “Medicare for all.” These are all enormously popular in the party, but they don’t pass because of the radical conservatives who are holding the party hostage.”

Not long ago, this would have been an outlier position even among American liberals. Today, it’s the organizing principle of a newly empowered segment of the Democratic Party, one with a foothold in the new Congress.

Chakrabarti is chief of staff to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the closest thing to a new celebrity Congress has had in years—a 29-year-old former activist and bartender who, on the most recent Martin Luther King Day, sat on the same New York stage as the rapper Common, Black Panther director Ryan Coogler and MacArthur “genius award” winner Ta-Nehisi Coates.

Although it’s Ocasio-Cortez who gets all the headlines, she arguably wouldn’t be in Congress in the first place without the group Chakrabarti founded: Justice Democrats, a new, central player in the ongoing war for the soul of the Democratic Party. It was the Justice Democrats who recruited her in a quixotic campaign early on, providing a neophyte candidate with enough infrastructure to take down a party leader. And it is the Justice Democrats who see Ocasio-Cortez as just the opening act in an astonishingly ambitious plan to do nothing less than re-imagine liberal politics in America—and do it by whatever means necessary.

If that requires knocking out well-known elected officials and replacing them with more radical newcomers, so be it. And if it ends up ripping apart the Democratic Party in the process—well, that might be the idea.

“There is going to be a war within the party. We are going to lean into it,” said Waleed Shahid, the group’s spokesman.

More stupid: ‘There Is Going to Be a War Within the Party. We Are Going to Lean Into It.’
So, when is it ever time for progressives to push for higher wages, universal healthcare, CUTS to massive military spending, REAL environmental policies/instead of your incremental bullshit? AOC should be at war with that damn party establishment because those assholes are at war against her and have even said so out loud! Declaring that they are searching for primary candidates right now. I doubt it will work any better than their efforts to try to push out Tulsi Gabbard for being antiwar and for supporting Bernie Sanders last time around. People are so fed up with the shit they're served up for political representation that any candidates who refuse to be bought and paid for by corporate donors are going to make a mark with a lot of people who are falling through the cracks of today's about to crash economy!

As for Justice Democrats and the DSA movement who've burrowed in to the Democratic Party at some smaller, local government levels, there are a lot of people on the left who see these movements...which started with Sanders movement- "Our Revolution" caucus, as the last chance for this strategy of taking over the Democratic Party from within!

Kind of amazing how Republican voters don't feel like they have to swallow this self-serving bullshit from their leaders! When tea party groups and other rightwing activists go after longterm Republicans...accused of turning into "RINO"s, the GOP moderates rush out to placate them and proclaim their conservative bonafides. The last thing they do is go out and piss off their base voters even more! If you want to follow this strategy though...knock yourself out! Maybe that's when you'll find out how well you can win by proclaiming yourself as gay and female and minority friendly/while having no fucking worthwhile economic policies for working class people!

Maybe centrist democrat bullshit that's shades of grey different from what Republicans offer up is good enough for you, but in case you haven't noticed, fewer and fewer younger people find anything worth supporting from the corrupt, ruling democrats, like hundred millionaire Pelosi, or the even richer, even more corrupt Wall Street bagman - Schumer!

Only 39% of Americans have enough savings to cover a $1,000 emergency

According to Bankrate's latest financial security index survey, 34 percent of American households experienced a major unexpected expense over the past year. However, only 39 percent of survey respondents said they would be able to cover a $1,000 setback using their savings.
Perspective – Extreme poverty returns to America

Philip Alston, the United Nations special rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights, has just wrapped up a 15-day tour of the United States. His team visited Alabama, California, Puerto Rico, West Virginia and Washington, D.C. The findings, released last Friday, documented homelessness, unsafe sanitation and sewage disposal practices, as well as police surveillance, criminalization and harassment of the poor. The rise in poverty, they found, disproportionately affects people of color and women, but also large swaths of white Americans. The report concluded that the pervasiveness of poverty and inequality “are shockingly at odds with [the United States’] immense wealth and its founding commitment to human rights.”
I don't know why Alston would find increasing extreme wealth for the few/ and extreme poverty for the many to be "shocking", considering that three...just three fucking billionaires in the US own as much wealth as the lower half of the general population. If three can hoard as much wealth as millions of people, then many have to make do with less!

AND:
Over 40% of US Households Are One Paycheck Away From Poverty
A stunning new study finds that 40 percent of U.S. families are only one paycheck away from poverty. That is, they do not have enough liquid assets to withstand a financial crisis such as the loss of a job. If they do lose their job, from one month to the next, they would be joining the ranks of the poor. This lack of assets to weather a financial crisis is even more extreme for Black and Latino households. For example, less than half of Black and Latino households have enough savings for an emergency, compared to 62.4 percent of white households.
The study was conducted by the organization Prosperity Now, and its authors are Kasey Wiedrich and David Newville. We’re now joined by one of its authors, Kasey Wiedrich. She’s the Director of Applied Research at Prosperity Now. Thanks for being here today,.............................................................................................................................Over 40% of US Households Are One Paycheck Away From Poverty.
And what's of note here...if you were paying attention to senile old Nancy's clapping at the SOTU, she is onside with Donald on economic issues because capitalism works for her, and she's never given a damn about the people conned into voting for her or her party with that worn out excuse that you're trying to reinflate here: we have to keep on voting for the horrible option two to prevent option one from winning! Should anyone be surprised that almost 40% of eligible voters in America said Fuck It last time? If you Democrat stalwarts think you can win by demanding that the left shut up and accept your meager offerings, expect the non-voting public to increase, Democrats to disappear and Republicans...including Trump, to keep failing upwards!

Axios is reporting that the mood in the WH has just rocketed since the Green New Deal was announced. This is the exact "Socialism" that Trump wants as a boogieman to fight in the lead-up to 2020.

The fight Trump and AOC both want in 2020
SO! Give him his boogeyman then! Make the case or either shit or get off the pot as they used to say!
A growing consensus of expert opinion tells us that the time is growing short....possibly less than 12 years, to start that long-awaited reduction of atmospheric carbon levels. If it doesn't happen in the near future...the rest of the ice melts up north...releasing locked in methane and runaway, cascading positive feedback effects are off and running and totally out of our control! The consequence of a runaway greenhouse effect at a time the human population equals 8 billion, has billions of livestock feed animals will be catastrophic, and no one can foresee how the nuclear-armed nations will react when things get really desperate!

"...your incremental bullshit."

It's right there that I stop reading. You apparently are incapable of making points without taking it to the personal level.

Every ......... single ......... time.

Stop reading whenever the hell you like! This isn't a parlor game! People are dying within the US and especially abroad because of the bipartisan policies of US governments, both past and present. It's time for people to get radical, and they can go in either two directions: towards socialism or towards fascism. Nobody stays with centrism in hard times!

Oh I know, I understand righteous zealot. I'm certain it literally burns your eyes looking down from the zephyrs of holy air circulating around your lofty dais at the troglodytes who fail to see the truth, that only two choices exist: agreeing with you, or being wrong.

It is on the hands of people like you, no matter the professed doctrine or dogma, that the soil of the earth has never wanted for the blood needed to soak it.

Stinking radicals are all the same.

A time comes when people realize they have to fight back. Maybe they'll have to step on your lawn in the process!

I'm positive you've never smell blood or rotting human flesh. I'd wager, you believe that there never was an innocent who didn't want to die for the glorious revolution. Pandora's box looks beautiful till it's opened.

You underestimate the power of the dark side, a cup which is filled to the brim at this moment.

Cubans have voted Republican for years, but most Hispanics in the US are Mexicans, you know "murderers, rapists, drug dealers and I suppose a few good people"...
But who else do they have to go for? The black vote? The youth vote? the college educated vote?
What?
