Harvard Poll: 81 Percent of All Voters Support Reducing Immigration Levels

A new poll released by Harvard-Harris shows that a staggering percentage of voters on all ends of the political spectrum are overwhelmingly in favor of an immigration deal that would end Chain Migration, eliminate the Visa Lottery, and grant amnesty to DACA recipients.

According to the poll, 65% of voters would support a DACA deal that secures the Southern border, ends Chain Migration, and eliminates the Visa Lottery. A majority of voters from nearly every demographic group would support the deal, including 68% of Hispanic voters, 64% of African American voters, 64% of Democratic voters, 67% of all independent voters, 63% of liberal voters, and 68% of those who voted for Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election cycle.

The poll also reveals that 60 percent of voters oppose giving preference to parents who illegally brought their children to the U.S. The Durbin-Graham no-strings DACA amnesty offered in the Senate would give amnesty to the parents.

The poll found that 81% of voters want to reduce legal immigration from its current level of more than 1 million per year, and 63% want it cut by at least half.

Who let all these weirdoes and their ancestors live there in the first place?
LOL

I doubt the right wingers will go for this though - they go into conniption fits if the Dreamers are granted citizenship.

The news never reports that THAT is what people are marching about. They're not marching about the lowering of number of immigrants (though they do march about the religious litmus test required). They're not marching about the Lottery. They're not marching about chain migration. They're marching about DACA.

And the right wing doesn't even have the decency to let that go through.

Even though 2/3 of Americans want it - far more than wanted the current President, by the way!

Actually, @tristanrobin, DACA and Dreamers are two separate issues, DACA allegedly is 800,000, Dreamers is 3.6 million, quite a difference.

And "decency" has zero to do with the fact that the DACA legalization bill presented by Dumbocrtas and a few Repubs contained specific language allowing the parents of the DACA crowd legal entry, now why would that be. Most in DACA are in their 20's and older.

Dreamers is a name made up for political purposes, they are criminal invaders who need to go home, on their dime whether that is walking or riding a south bound train I do not care we have an immigration system that works for those willing to work hard to achieve Citizenship.

I did support the DACA people until they started protesting rights that they do not have yet.
