I would say that they are a good metric but i wouldn't say that they are "Sufficient" there must be something to them as it is illegal here in the land of the free to use them as part of the hiring process.

No. The last time I checked, the thought seemed to be that there are many kinds of intelligence: social, mathematical, spatial, musical & so on. & the inventors of the standard IQ tests never claimed an absolute accuracy - merely that test results were an indicator of written language/cultural competence (one of the drawbacks to most IQ tests), & of the testee's competence @ that point in time in that subject matter.
