The man who holds the highest office in the land--the Intelligence Community--the Attorney General of the United States "thinks" there was spying. Thinks. A major assertion by the AG of the US. With no evidence. He thinks.

CNN)Attorney General William Barr told lawmakers Wednesday that he will be looking into the "genesis" of the FBI's counterintelligence investigation that began in 2016 of potential ties between members of Donald Trump's presidential campaign and the Russian government.
"I think spying on a political campaign is a big deal," Barr said, echoing some of the more inflammatory claims lobbed by the President for months, but declining to elaborate on his concerns.
The news will likely be viewed as a welcome development to the President, who has regularly called for an investigation and, as recently as last week, told reporters more should be done to examine the origins of the Russia probe.
These comments directly contradict what DOJ previously told us," tweeted House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler, who authorized the subpoena for the Mueller report. "I've asked DOJ to brief us immediately."
Yet, according to a source familiar with his thinking, when Barr spoke of "spying" on the Trump campaign, he meant it in the "classic sense" of intelligence collection. He doesn't view term as "pejorative," the source said.

Bill Barr is supposed to represent the people of this country. He is supposed to believe in facts, evidence, proof but he THINKS......WTH?? Barr stutters and stammers when called on his statement.

There goes his credibility. A man who was highly regarded--going to be a professional??
Absolutely stunning and WHY? WHY would Barr make such an assertion?

William Barr: FBI Spied on Donald Trump Campaign | National Review

The walls in Left winged looney land are crumbling.

The American people demand answers regarding the witch hunt that has surrounded Donald Trump that turned out to be a big bust. Judgment day approaches.

“I think spying did occur,” Barr said during a hearing before the Senate Appropriations Committee. “But the question is whether it was adequately predicated and I am not suggesting that it wasn’t adequately predicated. . . . I am not suggesting those rules were violated, but I think it is important to look at that. And I am not talking about the FBI necessarily, but intelligence agencies more broadly.”
“I think spying on a political campaign is a big deal — it’s a big deal,” he added.
Barr was addressing a question from Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D., N.H.) about the origins of the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation into the Trump campaign. Intelligence officials involved in the probe relied in part on the Steele dossier — an unsubstantiated opposition-research file compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele — to obtain a FISA warrant to surveil Carter Page, but did not tell the FISA court that the dossier was commissioned by a company contracted by the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign.

This is all perfectly reasonable. We need to get a very good look at both sides of the coin here, or does this make some a little scared?

Should all investigations be targeted toward the GOP or is there some political justice left in government?

Why do you and your peeps keep insisting the "witch hunt" was a big bust? Criminal charges against 199 criminal counts,
37 defendants, including six of Trump's associates, is a big bust?? Do you not care about financial fraud? Conspiracy? Obstruction? Russia's interference?
What is wrong with you?

I think the attorney general is going to jail for lying to Congress and obstruction of justice.

Possibly the biggest "bust" ever in the history of special council investigations. You keep touting 37 defendants but only 6 brought to court and convicted of crimes? None associated with the original investigations stated target I might add. None of those Russians who are the bulk of the indictments will ever see the inside of a US courtroom unless the Rooskies decide to cough them up in some kind of a deal. You want to keep throwing them up like they were gold, they're gold all right, fools gold and we know who the fools are.

Facts make absolutely no difference to you guys. This is the umpteenth time this has been posted:

Yeah, you might add that to the list of lies, lies, all the time lies. Sure, add it.

If you have a warrant to search for drugs in a persons house, you are there to find drugs. If you find other things, you cannot use the warrant to obtain them and use them against that person.

Mueller was put in place because a FISA warrant was obtained to go after a person around Trump, namely Carter Page for Russian collusion. They then used the warrant to spy on Carter Page, who just so happened to work around Trump so that they could spy on Trump as well if they liked. What a coincidence, right?

Well guess what, they then started going after people in and around Trump, but for things that had nothing to do with Russian collusion. Then they went after his lawyer, a person Trump confided in for representation. So much for being able to do that. Essentially what this devolved into was trying to find something wrong with Trump and those around him.

Is it surprising that Mueller with his army of investigators could find dirt on the people in and around Trump? Not really. I bet the same could be done with pretty much anyone at that level of power. But at the end of the day, none of them had any Russian collusion, the sole reason Mueller was given such power.

And let's say that Mueller was able to find dirt on Trump, did it have anything to do with Russian collusion? I have not read the report but my guess is no. What I fully expected is what we got, no Russian collusion and just a lot of poo slinging, trying to drag Trump through the mud and as many of his cohorts as they could.

At this point, if Mueller did find something illegal about Trump, like if he jay walked or did not file a tax return right, no one gives a damn except people like you who want to destroy him.

What really took the cake for me is when Nancy Pelosi comes out and says they will not pursue impeachment because Trump is not worth tearing the country apart. Think of it, these clowns have from day one talked about impeachment and done nothing but attack Trump, which did divide the country. But now that the empty report has no real smoking gun, just a lot of poo slinging, all they can do now is do what they have done from day one, which is continue to rag on Trump. to divide the country as much as possible

Now what I could have possibly got behind was going after Trump for something like his university cheating all those kids out of their money, but instead, the democrats chose to collude with the Russians to file dossier that was used to obtain an erroneous warrant that was used to try and find illegal activity that had nothing to do with the original warrant. Add to that the unconscionable intrusion of his privacy by destroying lawyer/client privilege. Even the most guilty person in the world deserves as much.

Disgusting.

Good ol "sour grapes" SanFran Nan. She should fire whoever it is that's coming up with her excuse of the day file. Hire a couple of 10 yr olds off the playground they'd cost less in the long run and be more effective. Note that the pointed index fingers of the loons are becoming prominant in their rants, a sure sign of impending failure.

Are you unfamiliar with the Whitewater/Ken Starr investigation? Perhaps you don't KNOW how investigations work or even the meaning of the word INVESTIGATION?? Inquiries? Snooping? Sifting? Looking under floorboards or into file cabinets?

Why? Why do investigators do that? AND what do they find along the way? Does one open door lead to another door? Do interviews lead to other interviews? Bob Mueller DID what he was supposed to do and in a very professional way. His team followed the leads. They discovered a massive amount of fraud, money laundering, obstruction, lying--in other words: CRIMINAL ACTIVITY.

The Trumpets hated every minute of it. Why? What were they afraid of? Suddenly the RW isn't interested in DOJ investigations? Just because Trump isn't exonerated, but of course you think he is. WAS that the intent of the original investigation? NO. It. Wasn't.
ANYONE who doesn't support our Dept of Justice is disgusting. Investigations are NOT.

Yea that is not true.
It sounds good but not true.
At no time does a warrant trump reasonable suspicion. It is a crime for anyone to not report a crime.
