Strange that you should use the analogy of cars. Cars and guns are just alike.
The recreational use of guns is far more prevalent than their use to kill......anything. They are inanimate objects that are used by people. what they are used for is determined by the user. Cars can be used to kill just as guns can. In fact there is in law something called vehicular homicide. Guns are used in far more roles that do not include killing.......anything than they are to kill. Cars are also used for many roles other than killing but they can and are used to kill. Both accidentally and willfully, just like guns. I'm betting the carnage due to cars far outstrips anything seen by guns in recent history.

It's a flawed argument. Anything sharp, hard, containing water can kill. You can drown in your hot tub, or a bottle can be smashed on someone's head, even a window can be broken and the pieces can be used to kill someone. That's not the point. People can kill with anything. Society chooses to accept the risk in exchange for the usefulness.

Guns cannot be used for anything except for killing. Your practice shoots are just jerking off on the perception of power.

No they are not, a car is a mode of transport, a gun is a weapon designed to kill.
But if we take the view they are alike why not have similar rules for their use.
All cars/guns need to be registered to their owners
You need a licence to use one.
You need insurance.
Strict safety devices fitted by law.
Have strict laws on who is allowed to own one..

Most of these laws already apply to cars, you just need to introduce them for guns.:)

I see the dolts are out in force with the insane analogy between a car and a gun.

Clue, my simple friends, a car is made to transport people.

A gun is made to kill people.

Hope this helps!

No matter their use, a gun is design for slaughter.

A car is designed for transport.

Good points, so like cars, guns should be registered, and gun owners should be licensed and required to have insurance in effect.

Cars are more dangerous than firearms and kill and injure more people based on data. Eliminate cars, and thirty-thousand plus lives can be saved each year. Eliminate guns, and other methods of murder will be used.

No, if we went back to horse drawn transport the death toll would be higher than it is with cars. Horses are unpredictable beasts at the best of times and even in Australia, home to all sorts of natural nasties they are the most dangerous animal in terms of human deaths

We no longer bow to your queen, in fact we went to war and won so we dont have to. You guys are proposing a ban on knives as people in your nation are using acid to attack one and other.

We have no interest in living in a state like yours.

Maybe you should concern yourself with your own yard before worrying about the weeds in mine.

Maybe, but not to the extent of 37,000 deaths per year. Also, I never mentioned horses.
