Is this true?

1 John 3:9 (NKJV) = "Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God."
I claim bullshit. Even if he has enough self-control to not jack-off periodically, he will still have wet dreams. It ain't happenen' babe.

Imagine this.

You are an ignorant country bumpkin in the middle of what is now Turkey 2,000 years ago. An unknown guy waltzes into the area yakking about a Jew who had been crucified for your sins in faraway Jerusalem, over 700 miles from you. In your entire life you have never been more than 15 miles from the mud hut you had been born in. The guy is a spell-binding talker. He is so passionate and describes everything in such detail. You can see it all in your mind just like you were there in person watching everything happen. You get caught up in the excitement and eagerly buy his story.

Time passes. People start to talk among themselves and even you, the local idiot, begin to get doubts. The guy returns and gets upset when he finds out that people have started to question his story. He goes off on a rant and says =

Galatians 3:1 (Phillips) = "O you dear idiots of Galatia, who saw Jesus Christ the crucified so plainly, who has been casting a spell over you?"

Galatians 3:1 (AMPC) =
"O you poor and silly and thoughtless and unreflecting and senseless Galatians! Who has fascinated or bewitched or cast a spell over you, unto whom—right before your very eyes—Jesus Christ (the Messiah) was openly and graphically set forth and portrayed as crucified?"

Galatians 3:1 (GW) = "You stupid people of Galatia! Who put you under an evil spell? Wasn’t Christ Jesus’ crucifixion clearly described to you?"

Galatians 3:1 (LEB) = "O foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as having been crucified?"

Remember, the local yokels didn't know who the Jesus character was from a scorpion. Paul had spun a tale about how the Jesus character had been crucified in a town over 700 miles from them. And that was supposed to save them from their sins.

The question is "Was Paul the con man who had put them under an evil spell in the first place"?

He had zero proof of his claims. He called them foolish, stupid, and idiots. Maybe he was right since they had initially believed his fairy tale.

Always have a ram handy.

Leviticus 19:20-21 (KJV) =
"20 And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, that is a bondmaid, betrothed to an husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; she shall be scourged; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free.

21 And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the Lord, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, even a ram for a trespass offering."

I think it's interesting that at the time Jesus was supposedly alive and doing his thing that there were multiple self-professed "messiahs" roaming around the Roman Empire.
