THIS AIN'T THAT DIFFICULT. SMART GUN TECHNOLOGY (SGT) COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED THIS LATEST TRAGEDY.

If all firearms were required by law to have Smart Gun Technology, a condition could be placed on every firearm before it can be fired. The condition is that the weapon may NOT fire if cellular phone service IS detected unless preauthorization to fire is given by the authorities.

Think about it. No one will be able to shoot their guns in any public area (any area with cellular service) unless they have preauthorization from the authorities.

The SGT could simply keep the firearm in "safe" mode.

The firing of guns has gone unchecked for far too long. It's time to bring the gun into the 21st century.

We have smart phones, cars, and homes. Why can't we have smart guns?

Smart Gun Initiative

Mission: To have every firearm equipped with "Smart" gun technology.

The Smart Gun Initiative, or SGI, will put a condition on every firearm that must be met before it can be fired. The condition is that the weapon must first receive an electronic signal from the owner of the weapon or the authorities before it can be fired. The signal could come from an app on the owner's smartphone or over the internet

The technology could be encrypted with the highest level of encryption so it can't be hacked and bypassed.

Every firearm that does not have this technology should be illegal.

The technology does not exist. The technology would defeat the very right of people to self-defense. The technology would violate the constitution. Development of the technology is unnecessary. The technology does not address the causes of violence. It is more techno-optimism as the democrats have a need to feel like they are doing something without actually do anything to address the root cause of many of our problems--the compounding effect of their very own policies.

The non-existent technology won't save anything. Banning schools would stop school shootings, but it still does not address the problem. Even if your technology existed it would cost lives as people would not be able to defend themselves against the 300M guns already out there. In addition, the weapon isn't the critical component. It is the ammo and having the ammo still available would allow people to craft their own guns.

No. I haven't come up with a business plan to present.
Besides, I think the law should require that the gun manufactures provide replicas of their guns equipped with SG technology. The replicas could be offered as a trade in for the original free of charge (they already made profit when you bought the original.)

The vast majority of gun owners are responsible law abiding citizens. Again, you cannot stop crazy. You can blame on whoever. It will not make it go away.

They can defend themselves. They would just preauthorization from the authorities to fire the gun. Or use a tazer to defend themselves instead of a gun.

So intruder breaks into my house and if I had not known in advance and called tech support in India and gotten preclearance, I cannot shoot them, huh?

Is the DNC run by the Bloods or the Crips these days?

No one can stop crazy, but if the weapon has the technology, it can't fire in pubic places.
