Religion started with Ooga-Booga the first guy who said "You guys do the work, I'll make sure the spirits are in your favor"

That's cargo cult religion. Cargo cult religion exists today in the form of media and television idolatry and consumerism. The cargo cult nature of man hasn't changed.

In that sense, it likely started before that:

Science (or Scientism, that is) is a modern religion, as are the religions today and yesterday which rejects gods and idols, in favor of God - or a Supreme Being.
