Dude.....

But where could you find and buy a car?? And, if you found one you could afford, it would be a Lada!!

Dear wife says your prices are too low, and your wages are about three times too high.
you are not Russian, but the Ukrainian wife of an American will tell you everything you want

My guess is that this is a case of nostalgia. Probably someone who did not live under Soviet rule but maybe grew up during or after the "boom" when the mob and oligarchs took over after the fall. They hear about the "good old days" from the old timers. Add that in w/ the readily available propaganda and you get a longing for the "old days". What people overlook when old timers are waxing nostalgic is that times were better when they were young because they were young.

Regardless looking from the outside in this is very understandable i mean even here we are bombarded w/ silly articles like

Why Women Had Better Sex Under Socialism

A comparative sociological study of East and West Germans conducted after reunification in 1990 found that Eastern women had twice as many orgasms as Western women. Researchers marveled at this disparity in reported sexual satisfaction, especially since East German women suffered from the notorious double burden of formal employment and housework. In contrast, postwar West German women had stayed home and enjoyed all the labor-saving devices produced by the roaring capitalist economy. But they had less sex, and less satisfying sex, than women who had to line up for toilet paper.

Kiev has way more than "normal" good-looking women, women who look real good coming home from a day of work, lotsa tall ladies, beautiful eyes, hair, and everything. Seriously. Sometimes, standing on the underground so I could survey the car, I'm 6'5", I flat couldn't believe all the nice looking ladies. It's sorta unnatural. I asked my wife why are all the sisters competing like hell with each other?

She said, quote, "Because we have so very few good men." Damn. Really? "Yes, and if a woman marries a good man, and he strays, it's the woman's fault." Say what???? And Ukraine and Russia both have radical divorce rates.

So I'm guessing, when the guy says how 'bout it, the answer might be yes more often than a country with more options for women. Just a guess.
By the way, dude ...
I am Finn, I am not Russian...

You sir are very very sadly misinformed about what miners make in this country. They are very low paid worker because it requires minimal skills. Mining is the work of last resort. It's the work you do when you're too stupid to do anything else. It's also a dying industry here.

And excuse me, but unless you were among the ruling elite, under the old Soviet system you were assigned your housing and no one actually owned anything.
Sir, I'm interested in hearing your opinion ...
But I use ONLY American sources.
---------------------
I ask you never to accuse me of not knowing the statistics about America ...
Otherwise, you will look very stupid.

I checked the prices for real estate in Moscow. They are just as high as in any western capital.
I'm talking about the USSR ...
Can not you read?
=====================================
... for a 50 sq.m. How can you live on 50 sq m?
:zany:
Americans consider Canadians to be stupid village jerks ... Especially those who live in Toronto ...
I did not understand why Americans think Canadians are assholes?
----------------------------------------
Now I got it...

I do not like Canadians, but I will try to be more or less tolerant ...
==================
Dude from Canada:
1. you are very good ...
2. But you know nothing
3. When you write about "50 m2" in Russia, it means "living space" ...
- In America there is no such thing. Americans know only the "flat area", which in America is 1-bed-room house, which you will receive 30 years after working for the boss
- In Russia there is a "living" and "total" area of an apartment ...

=======================
Look here, ...
A Soviet or Russian Apartment with a "living space of 50 m2" should have a MINIMUM:
- Hallway = 2 m2
- Hall = 2 m2
- Bathroom = 4 m2
- Kitchen = 6 m2
- Storeroom = 4 m2
- Balcony = 4 m2
-------------------------------
Total: = 50 +22 = 72 meters ...

=========================
Now tell me ...
How much will an American pay to buy such an apartment?
- oops ... sorry, you're a Canadian ...

The USSR doesn't exist ... moron. It's as dead as a mouse, dissolved, destroyed and thrown out on the garbage heap.

The USA is alive and kicking. Try to compare existing things.

Who owned their apartment in Soviet times?

The people I talked to in Russia just before the Putin takeover have a different story.
And who were you talking to? Ordinary Russians, like the mother of one of my eldest son's girlfriends back in the early 2000's...who was fortunate enough to be able to leave the carnage and chaos caused by the destruction of the communist state, have lots of nightmarish stories to tell of millions of people left with NOTHING after thousands of public assets(like those apartment buildings) were all of a sudden privatized and turned over to mostly former high Communist Party officials( the new billionaires) who started demanding 'market' level rents, while elderly Russians over 60 all of a sudden watched their pensions vanish and have nothing to pay the rent with or buy food! It was the same story through the rest of the former Soviet Union and Eastern Bloc states!

I used to have a lot of arguments when I got sick of my late sister-in-law's anti-Russian screeds about what the Russians did to her homeland of Hungary. I would just ask her "is your family and the rest of the people in your hometown better off or worse now that communism ended and the Russian soldiers closed their base and went home? As a Bulgarian man told me long ago: we longed for a time when we could travel freely and even move to the west if we wanted to/but once we were free, we had no money to travel or to even eat at the restaurants and shops we used to go to. So, the overall message has been: what good is freedom if you don't have the money to exercise those freedoms?

The USA won't be "alive and kicking" much longer! I just hope the suicidal march you're all on won't destroy everyone else also!
and btw: America...courtesy the Clinton Administration, destroyed the Soviet Union and turned Russia into a disaster afterwards also! It was Clinton who gave the go-ahead for Yeltsin to open fire on their legislative building "The White House" when they refused to pass his extreme Friedmanesque privatization demands and ordered the Army to open fire with heavy guns, killing an estimated 100 inside....and after the old drunk died, guess who inherited his position in charge of what was left of Russia?

Same bullshit excuses! All the shit that creates your earthly comforts comes from metals and minerals taken out of the ground, but you elitist liberal fucks have no respect for the people who get sick and live short lives by doing the dangerous and dirty work of getting the raw materials out of the ground!
