HEY GUYS! PLEASE stop hijacking my thread. This thread is not about term limits. About face--PLEASE!

The topic is H.R. 1 and WHY the GOP rejects it.
The GOP rejects it for tactical reasons, more voters helps the Democrats.
That is the reason they attack Ocasio Cortez at every opportunity, she brings out people who don't normally vote.
Three weeks before the primary, she trailed by 36 percentage points, she won by 15 points, that's a 51 point shift in three weeks.
She didn't convince anyone who was going to vote for Crowley to vote for her, she brought new voters to the process.

It's not the electorate is split down the middle, there are more Democrats than Republicans, the GOP just does a better job at turnout, mainly because it's easy to get old people to the polls, it's tough getting 19 year olds to vote.
But if the Democrats do turn out voters like AOC did, they can win EVERYTHING.
Making it easier to vote helps Democrats, that's why the GOP will oppose the election day holiday, it why they try to make voting as difficult as possible.

Only twenty percent of Cortez's district voted.

What percentage usually vote in an off year primary featuring a 20 year congressman and an unknown challenger?

If Latinos in Texas voted at the same rate as Latinos in Florida, Democrats would win every statewide election.

In the 2018 midterm election, 50% of the eligible voters turned out to vote. The turnout in Cortez's district was 20%.
