Should be noted that Rick Gates still hasn't been sentenced and recently on the witness stand (can't remember which case it was and too lazy to look it up) stated that he's spoke with federal authorities on 40 different occasions as part of his cooperation agreement. He's very very very likely to get no prison time. Flynn, based on how his last sentencing hearing went, could still be looking at some time.

Which is funny, at a previous sentencing hearing for Flynn, prosecutors recommended no jail time due to his extensive cooperation.

Then Flynn decided to blow the deal, hire a new attorney, and angle for a pardon (I'm guessing that's his weird strategy here). Which may lead to him getting jail time now.

Seems Flynn's lawyers might be full of it. The transcripts show that there's probably no way he could forget the at-length conversations regarding sanctions with Kisylak

Michael Flynn Seeks a Delay in Sentencing as His Lawyers Try New Approach

The classified transcripts of the calls make clear that the two men discussed sanctions at length and that Mr. Flynn was highly unlikely to have forgotten those details when questioned by the F.B.I., several former United States officials familiar with the documents have said. It was clear, the officials said, that sanctions were the only thing Mr. Flynn wanted to talk about with Mr. Kislyak.

Going down like that due to just one supposed lie?

The FBI is awfully selective when they get offended to being lied to.

Flynn is to be used as an example on challenging the Swamp.

One supposed lie. Of which there is a recording of conversation which was lied about. A conversation with the Russian ambassador, about sanctions, during a transition period of new POTUS, who he was working for.

Why would Flynn lie to the FBI about this conversation if it were so innocent?

Now, apparently the government, who he lied to, are the bad guys.
