I am well aware of the Molly McGuires....I am working in Jim Thorpe PA. right now...If you read or saw The Molly McGuires you know how that relates ...Don't you??..I stand-by my claim that The unions are simply big business....They sell protection....They had a good reason 100 years ago...Today not so much....

And Capitalism is still a version of Survival of the fittest...pure and simple...
Right now Americans work harder and longer than anybody in any of the other developed countries. And we receive less for it! You have to be high to thank that today there isn't that much need for unions.

Next, capitlaism is survival of the lowest. Survival of the most ass kissingnist. Survival of the most immoral. The only real way to get any genetic improvement in humanity is with eugenic breeding! So if real improvement is what you want, support eugenics!

oh great....another one who thinks 18 year olds should get a cart blanch education in basket weaving at the expense of people who worked damned hard for what they have..

I got a better idea....those high school grads should be inducted into the military, where they can get a good dose of life's realities, and then they can use their GI benefits to pick an education that will suit them in their life...

Well, it is a good idea to have EVERY high school grad spend two years in service.

I certainly support and have loooooong advocated this.

As to college, Yes, we have an obligation to educate our youth. High school is simply not enough anymore.

The current template is obscene.

Business should pay for their own needs. Not a 22 yer old on a credit card.
Think about it, we have banks turning a profit on our kids before they even have a job. Anyone who thinks this is OK has their head inside the back cavity of their body.

It used to be that there were "internships" for non-trades areas. From my perspective it was rare for accountants to go to university. They would be hired by a firm, intern or it was sometimes referred to as articling under a certified member of that group and the company would pay a modest but acceptable wage while the intern learned. The company would also pay for the intern to attend various courses as needed and upon successfully passing accreditation exams they would be granted a certificate of professional standing.

I think rather than the university/student debt model, this one could work, but it is another case of where corporations have been able to offload expenses, at least in part in this case, on the taxpayer.

I agree w/ you besides the "corporations have been able to offload expenses, at least in part in this case, on the taxpayer." Part. The universities along w/ the rest of the education model is self fulfilling. It is a giant money pit that defines it's own need in society just as w/ every other government organization.

Remove all public funds from it and let it crumble.

One of the biggest challenges that I see is the change that happened after WW2. At that time you could get a good job out of high school. Now, you have to have a college degree to get a good job.

If we make college free to all, the standard will probably move to a masters or PhD.

You are wrong again. Please read my post above.

Adding to it, it's the non working investor class that needs to pay for college because they are they ones that profit from it's fruits.

So you are saying College professors will work for no pay?

The contractors building the dorms, classrooms and Libraies will build them free of charge?

Publishers will print and supply books for no charge?

Just because the STUDENT isn't paying for the College Courses...

does not mean it is free

IF THE NON WORKING CLASS INVESTOR PAYS FOR IT.. MEANS IT IS NOT FREE
