Aren't we all?? You know how I stay grounded? A guy named David Vo.
David and wife are owners/operators of the local nail place. They immigrated to America from Vietnam during the war and were sponsored by a church in Chicago. As a young boy, David watched his parents and other family members shot and killed by the Communists. He fled to Thailand and finally to the U.S.
When he arrived in Chicago with Amy, they had $20. The church helped them find housing and jobs--taught them English--and they became citizens. They moved to the Phoenix area 20-25 years ago because their youngest son has asthma. Now, David and Amy own two homes (one is a rental) and their business. Their oldest son has a masters in political science and works for the FBI. Their younger son is in med school.
David can't stand Trump, but every time I see him, he reminds me that this is the greatest country in the world. His gratitude is contagious.
YES, we are spoiled and need to be reminded.
