You mean the Democrats are finally willing to admit what hateful people they are
I'll bet you're going to tell me Republicans are not "hateful" people also!

Fact is that the old blue collar labor and southern coalition that controlled most of the Democratic Party since FDR's time (which had its own black marks) was withering and collapsing as soon as the braintrust of the Party successfully kneecapped anti-Vietnam War candidate - George McGovern's presidential campaign in 1972, and launched their "moderate" "centrist" "electable" zone of the Party, which could be fueled with large corporate donations, and led to acceptable, big money-approved Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and every "serious" Democratic presidential candidate ever since! The "left" candidates ever since have only been spoilers and looking back on many of their sadsack campaigns, it looks like their campaigns were intended to corral in as much of a leftwing segment as possible to reduce the likelihood of populist challenges coming from the left.

And, even with Bernie...his 2016 Campaign owes 99% of its success to the fact that so many potential Democratic voters were sick and tired of the same centrist, globalist, neoliberal bullshit coming from their leadership...with a few symbolic identity politics touches added on to try to impress marginalized groups who may not have noticed that Hillary Clinton had nothing to offer Americans watching factories and other places of employment close their doors, while existing ones offered younger people low wages and contract or part time work. A useless Obama health care "reform" that hasn't stopped rising medical bills and insurance costs didn't help much, so sometimes when people are pissed off, they may "vote against their interests" as the expert pundits call it, or not bother standing in line to cast a ballot to begin with, in an election that had almost 40% of voting age Americans not bother to vote!

Assuming things are different now....at least for younger people, there is still a split between what's called the "Inside" vs the "Outside" strategies. The group of insurgents who still believe they can target a few vulnerable districts to insert a non-DNC approved/non-corporate funded candidate made their moves, and succeeded in a few occasions, but most reform candidates didn't break through. And the ones that are...even the most popular like Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, are being targeted by wealthy Democratic Party mandarins who would rather watch their Party stumble and whither under the leadership of 80 year olds and near-80 year olds, than let young people come in and change the way business is run in Washington. Are Democrats Trying to Make Ocasio-Cortez a One Term Congresswoman?

So, if you think this is about: 'Republicans good/ Democrats bad' it's time to either grow up or go back to listening to Rush Limbaugh and those swimming in his wake, drone on for hours each day with that simpleminded message!

I addressed this repeatedly but you refuse to respond.
The method that you use to make this assessment is ridiculous. You look SOLELY at who controls congress and then blame them EXCLUSIVELY.
It would make more sense to look at the change in deficit size as solely looking at the budget amount by itself is meaningless. Deficits are not shrunk overnight.

TNVolunteer73, it's about time you responded to my post.
I think its about time you read how budgeting works. There is this thing, its called the Constitution.

The Constitution and the federal budget process. In a general sense, the Constitution tasks Congress and more specifically, the House of Representatives with “the power of the purse.”
Article 1, Section 7. Text of Article 1, Section 7: All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills.
Presidential deficits are a msm fabrication. To even utter Presidential deficits indicates a complete and total lack of comprehension of civics.
