Pat Robertson was not in the Army.
He was a Marine, and he was being shipped to Korea, but before Korea the ship stopped in Japan, and Pat got on the phone to his father (the senator, not his holy father) and cried enough so that his father intervened with the Marine Corps and Pat served as "Liquor Officer" for the Tokyo Officers Club, where he got the clap from a Japanese prostitute.

Not all Republicans avoided service....
