What the Bible Says About How to Treat Refugees

How is this 'welcoming' the foreigner?

Do not oppress a foreigner; you yourselves know how it feels to be foreigners, because you were foreigners in Egypt. (Exodus 23:9)

These 'laws' are talking about those 'foreigners' which all 'left Egypt' together and those that came in to have The LORD God be their God.

And is this where 'you must help the poor' idea comes from?

Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.

— Proverbs 14:31

The 'thou shalt not oppress the poor' idea?

What Does God Have To Say About Poverty?

So if there is any 'foreigner' at least begin teaching them about Whom they came for, namely The LORD and God and (J)esus Christ and treat them the same as the non foreigner in true/righteous judgement as any non foreigner would be 'judged'.

Step 1: Get proper papers.
Step 2: etc....
Step 3: Fill out tax forms.
Step 4: etc....

But if they've invested 500,000 dollars already, they are already 'citizens' and not 'foreigners'.

If you see a 'citizen' breaking and entering, it is a civil duty to at least let the owner of the home know who it was or at least ask the homeowner what they would like to have done, right? It's not only the middle aged owners' homes which get broken into, you know.. Sometimes homes of the Elderly get broken into also. The middle aged ones might know what to do on their own without needing any suggestion(s) from any person. The Elderly, on the other hand, might be too confused to know what to do...

Or do i NOT have a right to defend the Elderly Neighbor?

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.

— Proverbs 31:8-9

So maybe rather than saying 'help' the poor, saying, 'assist those that are 'weak'' could be a better way of looking at it.

Because after all, what is the inability to speak up for yourself, if not because of being 'weak'.

And why was there this 'weakness'? Because of 'fear'. Fear to speak up/out against the wrong doers.

And this 'fear' allows for the 'new standards' to come in and being needed to be accepted.

Do you really think that the U.S citizens were 'afraid' to speak up/out against wrong doing pre 1960s? I would think 'hardly'.

What occurred in the 1970s? Los Angeles had its first 'large scale street gang' started. The 'crips'.

The Crips are a gang based in the coastal regions of southern California. They were founded in Los Angeles, California in 1969 mainly by Raymond Washington and Stanley Williams.

Wow- so this is how you "Christians" twist the Bible to serve your own ends? You picked and chose what you wanted from the links provided. I also notice you conveniently ignore the parts about helping the sick. too. You are truly depraved.
