That's why I think that when it arrives at the Senate, he takes a vote to dismiss it without debate, and it's over.
Then you just hope people forget about it.
When people don't stand up against an asshole they end up with a dictator. If the dummies let trump off the hook you can bet some guy in the near future will will be 10 times worse and make the Congress Critters eat shit three times a day for the rest of their miserable lives.

well this should come as no shock.

excerpts from article:

In private, Trump is increasingly leaning on the Republican leader in the Senate. In a return to the President's panicked behavior during the height of the Mueller investigation, Trump is calling McConnell as often as three times a day, according to a person familiar with the conversations.

Trump has been lashing out at GOP senators he sees as disloyal, according to the person familiar with the conversations, telling McConnell he will amplify attacks on those Republicans who criticize him.

McConnell faces his own dilemma of having to preserve the Republican majority in the Senate, while also placating an erratic President who demands nothing short of total loyalty. That will become harder as more details about Trump's dealings with Ukraine trickle out.

is there any way he can legally stifle it? of course it wouldn't be popular, but he doesn't care about popularity, he cares about power

McConnell is begging for campaign donations with the promise that he won't even allow the impeachment "trial" to come to a vote in the Senate, although the week before he lied and said he'd have to move on it.

McConnell is a Russian Agent as well. They don't call him "MoscowMitch" for nothing. He won't allow Putin's pet to be impeached, but there will be a lot of nervous Republican Senators who don't want to be seen openly supporting a guy who is being more blatantly treasonous and treacherous by the day. There will be a "rebellion" in the GOP in the Senate, guaranteed.

This is something that lays at the feet of the last 4 or 5 administrations and congresses. Over the last two decades, the legislative branch has basically succeeded a WIDE variety of responsibilities to the executive branch. So when you get a fuck-head president, this is what you get.

The Trump administration is embroiled in controversy. He's going to be impeached in the House. That's all but a certainty at this point. So how would you handle a Senate impeachment trial?
I would call in Arnold to stop all the confusion! LOL
