Elaine Chao, Secretary of Transportation, is under ALOT of scrutiny. Let's list:
- Ethic officials said if she were to become Secretary of Transportation, she would need to divest herself of her stock in Vulcon Materials which is a sales and distribution company for construction materials. Vulcon also happens to be the largest producer of asphalt in the US. If you're going to be the Secretary of Transportation, it's probably bad if you have heavy investment in a construction materials company. So did Chao do it? Not a chance. She's had a financial investment in decisions she's making in her role. Chao, keep in mind, has been a driving force of the administration's numerous, numerous, numerous infrastructure weeks. You know which companies saw a bump in their stock prices when these weeks were announced? Construction companies like Vulcon Materials. I'm sure that's just a coincidence :D

- Chao reached out to the US Embassy in Bejing China to try to set up a meeting between members of the Chinese government and... her parents. See, Chao's family owns a major shipping company in China and Chao reached out to the Embassy to accommodate her family. Members of the Embassy reached back out to Washington regarding the ethics questions surrounding this request. Chao eventually dropped the request.

- Todd Inman is a special liaison serving under Chao, specifically assigned for expediting approvals for special project grants in Kentucky. Since put in his position, Inman has approved over $74M worth of grants. You know who's the biggest Senator from Kentucky? Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. You know who Mitch McConnell is married to? Elaine Chao.

But hey, it's just another day in the Trump administration.
