The Horatio Alger stories about Gates, Jobs, Zuckerberg and other dot.com startups being the works of genius nerds making great discoveries and overtaking giants like IBM and Xerox are mythologies that serve many purposes. Just as the real Horatio Alger embellished and created outright fabricated stories of boys and young men risiing from humble beginnings to great wealth, same goes for the new generation of these fabricated business heroes!

I never followed these stories too closely...as one of my older brothers did out of his hobby-turned part time business interest in programming and web design....if I want the details I'll have to ask him about it, because all I know of Gates is that when Microsoft was on its way to the top in the 90's, there was still a cloud of controversy about the legitimacy of Microsoft patents. What Gates and the other soon to be billionaire tech monopolists did most, was to take tons of freeware or shareware products that were being developed open source by the first generation of techies in the 80's, and put patents on them and claim sole proprietorship. Most of the 80's techies were trying to make a modest living, but believed the future was about collaborative development/ not creating the next monopoly like IBM!

So, the dot.com billionaires who are presented to us over and over again in ego-fluffing MSM media as rags to riches nerds, were more correctly the predators who took advantage of the skills and creativity of others and stuck patents on the product.....not to mention kicked out fellow early shareholders who invested in the startups. Sure, Steve Wosniak, Paul Allen and many smaller shareholders got big payoffs for their time, but that's because the apex vultures like Gates understood there was even more money to be made and wanted everything that money can buy....including all the bullshit fake PR that comes with charitable foundations that make Oprah swoon over them/ yet somehow never make a negative impression on their overall wealth holdings...according to their Forbes listings!

If things had turned out the way the 80's computer nerds envisioned....with a free internet that had virtually all knowledge and information online free to all, imagine what a different world we would be in today. But that wouldn't be capitalism!
Now can we add to that, treating the internet as a public utility? Cities investing in the structure that makes the internet possible.

If all that went with people educated to understand the difference between fast and slow thinking and prepare to do the slow thinking, the human potential would be greater than it is now.

The other side of this system is using it to record people in their homes 24/7. This might be great for house arrest of criminals, but it may not be something we want on in our homes? Samsung's warning: Our Smart TVs record your living room chatter

Being born and raised in a fascist country, and then moving to a democratic country takes many years to change the ideas we were taught as a child, as you saw in the picture.
Your most important words are

"Being born and raised in a fascist country, and then moving to a democratic country takes many years to change the ideas we were taught as a child, as you saw in the picture."

The Catholic church has a long history of educating children, before anyone else. This is because our young are more impressionable before age 8, when the brain begins to close down and become more discriminating.

As social animals, we all have a need to belong and to be accepted. This makes fascism very powerful and is what makes Trump so popular with the White Anglo/Saxon Protestants.

I like your picture of women with equal rights to be part of the Great Fascist Nation. Perfect, indoctrinate both men and women in the military service and give the children to the government, so they too can be indoctrinated and make our nation great.

All the children of the world of all colors, which are violated by pedophiles, they are marked for their entire lives. Humanity has to think of the children, not to look away, as many countries do.

I ask as a father and grandfather, pedophiles deserve to be alive, a child to be raped is marked for a lifetime.What pleasure does a pedophile violate a baby a child with 4 - 5- 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 years etc. .

As I said I am a Portuguese citizen born in the time of Portuguese Fascism, I can not say if my ideas are facists or as a human being to all pedophiles in the world I wish death, but to avoid death I liked that my Portugal have a law to cut hands or fingers to all pedophiles, as well as make equal to all parasites that steal the Portuguese pigeon starting with Ricardo Salgado

Ricardo Salgado - Jose Socrates - Paulo Portas - Caváco Silva etc.etc.etc. These parasites should be without their hands, and return all the money that stole from Portugal Portuguese justice has feared to touch this socialists and democrats. They are even worse than the fascists António Oliveira Salazar and Marcello Caetano.

Long live the democracy that sucks, friends excuse my Latin.
Rape is a pretty sensitive subject. I had my period when I thought of castrating all rapists and sterilizing all those who have children when they can not care for the children. Especially those men who get many women pregnant with no intention of getting married and being good husbands and fathers. Sterilizing women too, when they have child after child but are not committed to a man and are not committed to caring for the man and the children. I am NOT sure where we should draw the line but I know I feel passionate such matters. Bringing children into this world without being prepared to focus on their well beginning is not okay with me. But I also think there would be an undesirable effect of such an authority over the people.

Also, rape is not always the same thing. I was molested by my stepfather. Thankfully he tried to make me willing to be sexual with me and did not force me and thankfully I made the firm decision that it is taboo to sexually engage with my mother's husband. But it was confusing to me and I sure did not feel like I was protected by a father. Such things are a problem and I am not sure how we should handle them.

Sex trafficking and using drugs to make young people compliant with this is intolerable. Our newspaper just did an article warning parents of the danger their children are in. We live in a society where both parents hold jobs and they must put their jobs first, leaving their children emotionally and physically vulnerable. No laws, no punishments will keep our children safe, and I think we need to rethink our values and the needs of children.

We may take a lesson from seagulls that will kill and eat each other's babies. Seagull parents work together to feed and protect the young. We are being foolish to live as though humans do not prey on our children.

In Portuguese

Felizmente, ele tentou me deixar disposto a ser sexual comigo e não me forçou.

On the outside, trickling down on the Insiders

The entire system of the korean ethnic nationalism was based on japanese fascism.
Cowardice Is the Crime That Leads to All Other Crimes

In 1905, Korea lost its independence for the first time in 2,000 years. The Kims felt a radical change to totalitarianism was the only way to prevent that from happening again. The theory is that having every citizen on the same page would make it a stronger country. Every small nation has to become a garrison state. If they whine about being outnumbered and beg for some bigger country to protect them, instead of doing what are fully capable of and protecting themselves, then they don't deserve to be a country. That goes for Kuwait, Lebanon, and Ukraine today, among many other "attractive nuisances" throughout history.

(We only know how to value it when we go through it.) Being born and growing up in a free democratic democratic country is totally different, from a facist country like my Portugal.

Absolutely, the internet and platforms that become universal - like Facebook, should be public utilities/ not private, for profit monopolies which have made a few filthy rich today! That's why the programmers and designers of the Linux operating system made it open source/rather than wrap it in exclusive monopoly-creating patent protection....like Microsoft!

But, whenever I hear of would-be reformers proposing making internet monopolies public platforms, my next thought is what about the rest of the world? Because it's the WORLDWideWeb, and connects everyone online with an IP address no matter where they live. Can we have a global public utility that works for everyone's benefit everywhere in the world?

And why shouldn't it make them rich? They had the idea. They took the risk. They provided the service billions of people value. Those not involved, like you or me, have had nothing to do with their success.

Caught Between Two Vultures, a Manly Genius Would Tote a Double-Barreled Shotgun

You are jealous of geniuses and want them to be satisfied with moderate incomes, instead of unionizing to get 50% of the value of the lucrative inventions they produce for the corporations they work for. Gates could have been one of those pushovers, exploited by the uncreative bosses, or, as you preach, wimpishly shared his ideas for free with a free-loading public that is just as parasitical as the corporations, but he didn't believe in your twisted upside-down and contradictory morality.
Yeah, that must be it! I'm jealous of geniuses.....geniuses who unlike so many others, have narcisstic tendencies and delusions of grandeur..... so they want to live lives of extravagance and rule over others! For my part, I have more than enough money to buy things I feel are necessary and resist all ads and peers who are dazzled by the latest fad.....like Iphone 11.....I resisted even buying a damn flip-phone until a year and a half ago, because all the payphones have disappeared and no doubt this was intended to force us holdouts to join the revolution! When I watch just about everyone under 40 these days walking around staring at a screen....even in their cars, I think WTF is wrong with people today!

Since my life has been mostly comfortably in the middle, neither being bullied or a bully, I'll set aside the rest of your survival of the fittest bullshit and focus on what I find especially repugnant about fascism and hierarchy-worshipping philosophies from feudalism to capitalism....which inevitably turns into fascist states when the ruling classes fear working class uprisings enough to elect a strongman as dictator:

All social hierarchies are antithetical to how our ancestors lived until just a few thousand years ago....and it's been a mess ever since! If the human race survives near term extinction it will only happen if there is a great transformation in the way modern societies are organized( mostly led by narcissistic sociopaths under capitalism), and we have a return to the values that guided our distant ancestors and made it possible for them to adapt and survive ice ages and calamitous natural disasters....such as a major extinction event about 70,000 years ago caused by a massive supervolcano eruption. Anyway, on with the show:

How Hunter-Gatherers Maintained Their Egalitarian Ways

During the twentieth century, anthropologists discovered and studied dozens of different hunter-gatherer societies, in various remote parts of the world, who had been nearly untouched by modern influences. Wherever they were found--in Africa, Asia, South America, or elsewhere; in deserts or in jungles--these societies had many characteristics in common. The people lived in small bands, of about 20 to 50 persons (including children) per band, who moved from camp to camp within a relatively circumscribed area to follow the available game and edible vegetation. The people had friends and relatives in neighboring bands and maintained peaceful relationships with neighboring bands. Warfare was unknown to most of these societies, and where it was known it was the result of interactions with warlike groups of people who were not hunter-gatherers. In each of these societies, the dominant cultural ethos was one that emphasized individual autonomy, non-directive childrearing methods, nonviolence, sharing, cooperation, and consensual decision-making. Their core value, which underlay all of the rest, was that of the equality of individuals.
Theory 1: Hunter-gatherers practiced a system of "reverse dominance" that prevented anyone from assuming power over others. ....................................
We citizens of a modern democracy claim to believe in equality, but our sense of equality is not even close that of hunter-gatherers. The hunter-gatherer version of equality meant that each person was equally entitled to food, regardless of his or her ability to find or capture it; so food was shared. It meant that nobody had more wealth than anyone else; so all material goods were shared. It meant that nobody had the right to tell others what to do; so each person made his or her own decisions. It meant that even parents didn't have the right to order their children around; hence the non-directive childrearing methods that I have discussed in previous posts. It meant that group decisions had to be made by consensus; hence no boss, "big man," or chief.............

Personally, I'm going with Christopher Boehm's "reverse dominance theory" also called "status levelling theory" by other anthropologists, as the most crucial in explaining why our distant ancestors resisted the pull of celebrating exceptional individuals. The author of that article though, makes a relatively minor mistake common among many social science profs in assuming that any behaviour has to be explained as part of a nature vs nurture paradigm. Modern genetic research informs us that life events and stresses impact how our genes code protein deelopment. So nature and nurture work together in unison.
Also, modern sociology research informs us that societies and nations that are relatively equal in wealth and income compared to less equal societies are also healthier and perform better in any examinations of mental, physical health and even life expectancy. This holds true even when comparisons are made between wealthy unequal societies (United States) and much less wealthy though equal nations (Costa Rica)
