Judge blasts special counsel Robert Mueller's criminal case against Paul Manafort

A federal judge on Friday criticized the criminal case brought against former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort, asserting that special counsel Robert Mueller's team wanted to bring down the president, according to reports.

During a tense hearing for Manafort, U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis III rebuked Mueller's team. He questioned whether Mueller was overstepping his prosecutorial power to look into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

"I don't see what relationship this indictment has with anything the special counsel is authorized to investigate," Ellis said, Reuters reported.

He continued: "It's unlikely you're going to persuade me the special counsel has unfettered power to do whatever he wants."

The judge was appointed by Reagan, and he has no right to talk about Mueller. He seems to be bias, and is a Trumper. I bet Trump made a special phone call to him. A judge should not interfere in matters that do not pertain to him, only the case before him.

To even insinuate what he has he should be recused from the case altogether.

ONE judge. ONE smackdown. NO ruling and even if there was a ruling, it could be overturned in an appeal.

Mueller is fishing. He caught a small fish while trying to catch the bigger fish. Nothing new here....it's how the justice system works. Manafort will be prosecuted July 10 in Virginia.

So you agree that Mueller is fishing. When a prosecutor goes on a fishing expedition, and it is affecting a politician (specifically, the POTUS), that means it 's no longer just a prosecution, it is now political persecution.

You are correct Mueller is fishing, why is he fishing, because after spending 10 million dollars and after reviewing over 2 years of evidence, and 10 month of him actively investigating Trump.. he has found no crime of which to prosecute Trump for committing.

In other words "Witch Hunt" in territory where no witches habitat

Uh...didn't I STATE that Mueller is fishing?? WHY YES! I did because that's what prosecutors and investigators do. They go after little fish, hoping to reel in the big fish.

AND thanks for stating the obvious. You bet it's affecting a politician BECAUSE he is POTUS and a slimy excuse for a human being. Trump is dirty. Everyone KNOWS he's dirty. Trump admits HE'S dirty. So what's the problem?

Mueller is doing his job and he has uncovered a glut of illegal dealings. Interestingly enough you just don't seem interested in getting to the bottom of little stuff like Russians meddling in our elections, Manafort, Flynn, Papadopoulos, Gates, Cohen, a whole host of Russians, financial crimes, foreign money, lying to federal officials, and a porn star or two or three or.......

WHY? Why aren't you interested in prosecuting criminals? Why don't you support Mueller's investigation? IF Trump is innocent--why not support it?

Did you support the Bill Clinton investigation? Kenneth Star? Did you support the Benghazi hearings? The email investigations? The Clinton Foundation inquiry? How about Watergate? Did you support that investigation? The Kennedy assassination?? Have you supported any investigations in the past or are you just against ALL investigations and where they lead?
Why don't you want to know the truth--or at least as much of the truth as we can uncover?
