This aligns with other Supreme Court opinions regarding voter ID laws. There is nothing in the Constitution that gives the federal government power over a state's voter laws. This was good for the Constitution and good for the rule of law.

Anyone here ever BEEN to North Dakota? Ever seen the movie Fargo?? If so you may have some idea of how desolate this entire state is. Can you imagine an entire state being non-residential?? Now just imagine HOW MANY voters will have difficulty voting if 80% of them have rural addresses and PO boxes...but of course, we realize the real intent here.
*Natives NEED NOT APPLY*
You can just add that to a political history rife with racism. Blacks need not apply. Muslims need not apply. Women need not apply. Poor inner-city folks without transportation need not apply. Imagine how easy it is to gerrymander a state like ND.
From the comment section--paraphrased:
Obviously, some of us really do not understand the mindset of the modern-day Republican base. It exists along what I have taken to calling an “axis of abuse” - a very valid case can be made that a great deal of the party is basically a giant case of Stockholm Syndrome at this point. Love your abuser. Your fealty belongs to the master of your cult---the predominately WHITE, MALE cult.
The Trump supporters are uneducated, angry, dull, emotionally deadened, and full of hatred, and will consistently vote for anyone who validates these emotions for them and/or reminds them of the violent and abusive parents and institutions of their childhood whose actual love and support they never really had. These are the same people who support rapists--deny sexual assault and in fact LOVE the KING of assault who bragged about it. They love the mocking and the violence. Their reasoning? It shows strength. Hence we support the philosophy that only the strong should survive.

North Dakota is a disgrace and so is the decision by the SC.

The right can no longer claim to be defending the constitution. They just abandoned it.

True. AND....The Republican Party has to CHEAT to win. They have to lie, cheat and sell their souls to win. Just think back to 2015-16 when dozens of our current GOP lawmakers detested Trump, maligned Trump, called him an idiot--a moron--an inept, proficient LIAR. They shouted from the rooftops that he would NEVER be president---he would never have their support.
They called him a fraud---a scam artist--a pretender. They labeled him a cheater, an unChristian fool....and they were right, but NOW??? Suddenly, Trump's the MAN! AND now THEY are the frauds, the liars, the fools.
Lindsay Graham is a prime example, but there are many others and we all know who they are.

Indeed we do. And they all need to be voted out.

This sounds like an issue with ND voting laws not federal. The court simply determined that the law was not unconstitutional. Lefties that are stressing over this should look at how other states handle it and work to get ND to change the law. SD and Texas and I suspect Fla. as well have laws that allow people with no brick and mortar addresses and travel and live in their RVs to vote in non local elections via absentee ballot. SD has a very large Native American population on reservations who seem to be able to vote.
It's a bit suspicious that this is coming up just before a midterm election dontcha think? This is a tactic used in the recent dog and pony show that the confirmation of Kavanaugh was turned into. A hi-profile push to "fix" the law should have been pursued relentlessly by the national voter rights groups and caused this to be fixed.
The handling of the issue stinks. At lest from the side that's reporting it.
The site, Splinters, is unknown to me and I can't seem to find references to the issue elsewhere but I havn't done an in depth search. So I can't simply buy it as all true.
