The gun would not be changing ownership in a case like this. Pretty much all states allow young people to learn/practing shooting in a controlled environment like a shooting range with parents and/or instructors. Pretty much NO state allows anyone under 18 to legally own a handgun; a shotgun, yes, but not a handguns.
Actually, the I think the issue is purchasing a long gun (18) and a hand gun (21) which are the federally mandated ages to buy from a Federal Firearms Licensee. Private sales or transfers (gifts ) however may be made to minors or those under those ages. This is all part of the "gun show loophole" which allows private sales exempt from the background check or federal regulations. So, technically, minors can "own" firearms based on federal law. States may have other restrictions or requirements, however.

An understandable position by someone who believes the Constitution gives us our rights.

For those who understand the Constitution limits government, they also believe everyone has an inherent right of self-defense. However, as soon as an illegal attempts to buy a gun they should be arrested and deported since they are illegally in the country. Period.
How do you know they are "illegal" without an adjudication? Innocent until proven guilty, remember?

When they try to buy a gun and can't present legal ID should be a clue to even those who've never won the game.
Once again, how are the "illegal" if there has never been an adjudication. Refugees are allowed to be in the US for asylum. Children are allowed to be born without obtaining birth certificates. Many circumstances exist where someone many not have ID, which by the way, is not required for citizenship rights.
So, once more, I ask, how do you know that an unlawful status exists?

Not as mixed up as you are about what was proposed earlier in the thread. You should try reading the conversation before responding.
Thanks for the suggestion, as incorrect as it may be.
You assertion about the father and son is incorrect. Current federal law does not prevent use by relatives, gifting, or sales between private individuals.

Seriously? You don't understand that a person can just walk into the US and say "Don't worry, I'm seeking asylum" then go about their business without any "adjudication" AKA paperwork?

Wow. Again you are not following the thread; you're just jumping in with your opinion on a single post cherry-picked out of contest. That's just sad, dude.
