Actually, protests are THE most patriotic you can be !!! This entire country was founded by men that stood up and said I OBJECT !!!! They told the king of England to go fuck himself and fought a nasty little war to make their point. At the time, about 1/3 of the population was for independence, 1/3 were loyalists and 1/3 didn't give shit one way or the other.

So when someone stands against the tide, that lone voice in the dark, that small group that's willing to risk themselves and their livelihood, even if you or I vehemently disagree with them, THEY ARE being good Americans !!! Even if they lose, at least we had the discussion.

If every single person, but one, in the nation supported an idea, when that one person stands up and speaks their mind, when they say I object, they are being the very best kind of American.

Questioning the protesters patriotism is what happens when those who disagree don't want to have the discussion, when they don't want to examine the cause, when they lack a valid argument to properly debate the situation.

There are people right here on this board that can be very quick to question a poster's patriotism when they don't like the ideas expressed. Rather than counter the argument, they simply resort to broad brushed statements about how they hate this country and want to see it destroyed. The opposite is actually true. If people didn't care about the country, we'd let whoever do whatever and bring it all crashing down.

When people protest it's because they see a wrong or and injustice and want to correct it, to make this a better place to live.

SO when those players, who get paid MILLIONS, are willing to risk losing that paycheck to make a point ?? THEY ARE BEING THE VERY BEST KIND OF AMERICANS. When the president and others on the frightwing question their patriotism and call them disrespectful etc etc etc it's because they don't want to have the conversation. They don't want to address the concern. They don't want to examine the reason the players are protesting. It's a weak kneed, limp dick, got nothing to say, run away and hide, last resort to call them unpatriotic.

There seems to be a fairly even split among Republicans and Democrats on this issue. Understanding Democratic values, or lack of, may give us the reasoning behind their questionable standards.

It is really strange that they kneel to protest during the anthem, when they say the protest isn't about the anthem, but rather about the false narrative of police brutality against blacks! Friggin morons should take some of their money and invest in the communities they live in, doing something positive for a change. Help change the culture, don't just expect someone else to do it you lazy bums.

Screw you, I don't have any issues, except lazy overpaid football players who work half the year, and then expect to have other people do something in THEIR communities. Friggin ridiculous fools with more money than sense!
In other words you didn't read the articles !!!! Colin Kaepernick has donated A MILLION DOLLARS. Dozens of other NFL players donate time and money to various organizations seeking to improve the communities they came from.

What have YOU done for your community ???

Kaepernick needs to use that money to bring communities and police together to work out issues not just send money.
