Yup, Russia is run by one criminal and his criminal best friends, and nobody gets to cross any of them. Anyone calling Comrade Putin a friend confesses to his own comfort with criminal camaraderie.

Please note that none of the newspapers showing solidarity are not state channels, and a peculiar quirk of common Russians is that everybody reads and trusts the state-run news. Russians are far more willing than Americans to sacrifice liberty for security.

Russian newspapers show rare solidarity with detained, beaten journalist
Moscow -- In a show of rare solidarity, Russia's three major newspapers on Monday put out nearly identical front pages to support a detained journalist. Kommersant, Vedomosti and RBK, among the most respected daily newspapers in the country, published a joint editorial under the headline "I am/We are Ivan Golunov," calling for a transparent probe into the case of the prominent investigative journalist.
Golunov, who works for the independent website Meduza, was beaten and kept in custody for 12 hours without a lawyer after he was stopped by police in Moscow on Thursday. He was transferred to house arrest on Saturday following a public outpouring of support, but he still faces drug dealing charges that could send him to prison for as much as 20 years.
"I did not commit a crime, I am ready to cooperate with the investigation, I have nothing to do with the drugs," Golunov was quoted by Russian news agencies as saying, Reuters reported.
...The circumstances of the journalist's arrest have alarmed the media community. In an apparent attempt to portray Golunov as a professional drug dealer, police on Friday released several photos, reportedly from Golunov's home, of what appeared to be a drugs lab before they retracted the statement, saying that the pictures were taken elsewhere.
Golunov rose to prominence with his investigations into corruption at the Moscow City Hall, the crime-ridden funeral industry and the murky food markets.

This is how the right in this country would like things done here. They love Putin and his theocracy. That's also why they love Trump. He gives the right whatever they want, the law be damned.

Yeah, that's why leftists are constantly crying for censorship. Too funny
