The Russians don't want that oil coming out of the ground. If it goes on the world market, The price gets cut in half the next day. Guess who the biggest loser is?
It could have an impact but not nearly like that. Is that a guess?
The biggest losers would be the Rooskies in the long run. There's even talks between Israel and Poland to ship LNG from the new Israeli oil fields to Poland in order to remove Polish dependence on Russian gas. Virtually no one is trusting the Russians.

That's why Putin shut the door on Maduro, to keep the pot stirred, get brothers shooting at brothers. Putin knows the chaotic value of civil war. Think: Ukraine.

Putin rules.

No wonder why he keeps winning by landslide victories and Crimea and Ukraine want to go back home.

There was a deal masde for maduro to flee to Cuba. The Russians said no you're staying here. The current demonstrations are people who are upset tht Maduro is still there.
Also the people are unarmed and confronted by armored cars with tear gas dispensors and water cannon. The common belief is that the troops will not fire on the public. It's illegal for private citizens to own guns since 2012. Seems the tyrants were anticipating just this sort of thing hmmmmmm.
