Been saying for years now s good compromise for both sides is free two-year and skilled trade colleges.

1. Fills the void for skilled trade workers we’ve had for decades
2. Gives kids a reason to finish high school knowing additional free education is available
3. Kids feel less pressure to go to a 4 year college because “that’s what you’re supposed to do”. Which in-turn reduces the drop out rate, and reduces the college debt problem that’s hurting this country.

We should identify kids with special academic skills for college, and other kids should be sent to technical/vocational schools. We should have a state sponsored university big enough to handle "free" students.
