"The best argument against democracy is a 5-minute conversation with the average voter." - Winston Churchill.

"You feel like sort of stupid, don’t you? Don’t you feel stupid?" - Donald Trump.

Why stupid voting produces stupid democracies

1.png

We separate and divide society constantly; whether it’s grading and streaming in schools, a political left and right, or the poor and rich, yet to do this requires the concept of an average. Using IQ as an example, we could divide a population between the clever and the stupid, using an agreed on number. That means a majority population can now be classified as stupid.

The term, 'Common sense' also becomes a fallacy, as it is not common as the term suggests and often doesn’t make sense, but applies only to those above the average, which is why it is not commonly understood by the stupid, but leads them to believe that their definition of sense is common to all.

If we apply democratic voting, it means that half the population will be too stupid to understand what they’re voting for, but are needed to vote in the clever. However, the clever also know this and so clever politicians dumb down their rhetoric to appeal to the stupid vote using small sound bites run through the media; such as in the US, "I’m going to build a wall and Mexico will pay for it", or the EU, "Diversity is our strength." These terms are specifically designed for the stupid, who wouldn’t understand a Political Manifesto unless it was powered by android and contained video game reviews.

Supporting the clever are a majority of the clever themselves, which is why the stupid vote becomes a majority choice in democracies, but conversely, why you never get a minority of poor stupid politicians leading them.

No one ever got elected telling the clever to be equal to the stupid, but become electable telling the voting stupid they can be equal to the clever. That this never happens is lost on the stupid because they’re too stupid to realize it never happens, but nevertheless, it sounds clever and doesn’t everyone want to be clever?

When gullibility met stupidity

Controlling a stupid majority is also easier for a clever minority and so the more reliance on drugs, the dumbing down of education, political hero worship and twitter tweets; the more employment it produces for the clever. Charities, drug rehab' centers and social work departments all benefit from stupid voting by the minority clever.

Additionally, the votes of the stupid majority increase as they reproduce themselves and provide new stupid offspring. With their democratic obligation of 'mobocracy' completed, the first US prize is a tax payer funded Obama phone, followed by a tax payer funded tax cut and the Europeans get a self-described leadership of "Democratic deficient" autocracy.

Bonding in the age of the stupid

Democracies produce consumer laws which protect the stupid with warnings that packets of peanuts may contain … Nuts. Health and Safety regulations warn the stupid that a floor is slippery when wet and provide them with mass-welfare that would make Marx green with envy. Moreover, it’s what enables political demagogues to intentionally sound stupid, yet become electable in stupid democracies ruled by a clever kleptocracy. This produces an idiocracy with a majority equal to the proportion of stupid comments they make. It’s why democracies vote stupid.

Voting and democracy is foolish, and a failed experiment. There is only one Truth to anything, and delusional plebeians shouldn't be allowed to dictate terms.

Frankly, I am relieved to find you don't vote. I think that is a wise move on your part.
I only vote in local politics. There's literally nothing one can do on a federal or even state level. Too many people exist in this country for it to have any effect. There's too many people, and the country is simply too large. People vote in masses for selfish and self-absorbed reasons, which is why democracy is a sham. People get in not because they are qualified or because of their worldview but simply because they play the game and know how to play it well. It's an absurd tragic comedy in the vein of Shakespeare.

Naturally a man who was an abject failure in life and politics would support democracy, since it was the only way he could've ever achieved power. Totalitarianism is, legitimately, the only form of government that can suppress the self-absorption of the general populace and destroy their self-centeredness so they may achieve greatness. With the advent of liberal democracies, we have seen climate change accelerate to catastrophic levels, we have seen the destruction of our heritage and our way of life in favor of a globalized pre-packaged culture ready for marketing, and we have seen an explosion of population simply unsustainable for this planet.
