The Parkland Kids Have Triggered Conservative Snowflakes

Over the weekend, the March for Our Lives event featured gigantic rallies across the nation, including one in Washington, D.C., that drew several hundred thousand people — depending on estimates, perhaps the largest single rally there in American history. It was an inspiring demonstration of American citizens exercising their democratic liberties.

But it also badly triggered the hyper-sensitive snowflakes in conservative politics and media, who apparently need a safe space from political assemblies to petition the government for redress of grievances. They have been in continuous meltdown ever since.

Lol.

I love when you leftists use wording such as this.

But it also badly triggered the hyper-sensitive snowflakes in conservative politics and media, who apparently need a safe space from political assemblies
When you guys are the hyper sensitive goofballs who created "safe zones" and repeatedly protest opposing events so violently that the venues and cities must spend millions of dollars in security against the communists and at times cancel the events because of the potential violence.

Adorable.

Now. Many people are happy. A bit sad and concerned, but happy that you guys have come out of the closet and finally admitted that you just want to confiscate all the guns that are in the hands of private citizens and give them all to the state.

That support is a clear sign to lawmakers to enact legislation prohibiting civilian ownership of semiautomatic weapons, increasing the minimum age to buy a gun from 18 to 21 years old, and establishing more comprehensive background checks on all purchasers of firearms. But the demonstrators should seek more effective and more lasting reform. They should demand a repeal of the Second Amendm

Now. I cannot understand this personally when then the only people left w/ guns would be the racist, murdering cops and the fascist trump regime. Kinda silly to me. But nobody claimed you guys were wise.

Good day.

So the new strategy from the RW is....IF ALL ELSE fails....attack the survivors of the Parkland shooting--verbally assault the children. Beautifully DONE!

Laura (the Hun) tweets:
David Hogg Rejected By Four Colleges To Which He Applied and whines about it. (Dinged by UCLA with a 4.1 GPA...totally predictable given acceptance rates.)

Conservative radio host and author Laura Ingraham received widespread condemnation after she took to Twitter to mock Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting survivor David Hogg for not getting accepted into his top colleges.

Ingraham’s Wednesday tweet directed at the 17-year-old student-turned-gun control activist is the latest criticism from right-wing pundits. Ingraham, 54, was responding to an interview Hogg did with TMZ about his educational future in the midst of his newfound national fame. Hogg said his top four schools—UCLA, UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara and UC Irvine—rejected him despite his claim to a 4.1 GPA and a 1270 SAT score.

The Fox News contributor used the information to punch down at the high school senior expected to graduate this spring.

Yes, Sabcat. This is just adorable and will be a BIG BIG hit with the voters.

To my understanding (and I would be happy to be corrected if wrong), there was no unifying policy vision promoted by the protests. It is difficult to imagine how the situation would change at all unless gun regulations on the public went down to either single shot or revolvers, with limitations on how many guns one can buy also to a minimum (say 2)--which would clearly be a much bigger conversation (as it would be highly restrictive). In my view, it displays clouded thinking (or possibly even dishonest, in some cases). Semi-automatic handguns, etc. are clearly capable of the same scenario if used improperly.

Also, there is no real discussion about the root causes aside from platitudes such as 'mental health problem', etc. If the root causes are unable to be isolated in any specific manner, there is little to no real hope in changing such violent acts from occurring.

@Clara

Somewhat Off-Topic: He could still attend those schools if he really wanted to. All he would have to do is attend a different College first (including CC, potentially), and then apply as Transfer student after earning 1-2 years of College credit. He will be fine, academically--seems like a reasonably savvy guy; he'll figure it out.

They have behaved deplorably towards these students. That said, I take issue with your use of the “C” word. There is nothing conservative about these vicious snowflakes.

Yes, they are now reduced to bullying children

Real manly men these guys.

What will be really hilarious is when all of these Fox pukes are long forgotten, and David Hogg graduates with a journalist degree, and ends up with a higher rated show.

Here's my question. Why doesn't the GOP just come RIGHT OUT and say this?

We DON'T want your votes, kids!

Wouldn't that be much easier?

@Camelot

It honestly is not right to criticize 16-18 year olds as though they are fully developed adults--nor should the kids be put in the spotlight to such extent, as they are.

They are very young, their views are subject to (potentially) change tremendously in the next decade or so (in either direction).

@skew

Hogg could potentially become quite successful, academically & career-wise, as you suggested. He is well composed and spoken for his age, and sort of 'fits the box' of who typically 'makes it'. Of course, as I stated in my last post, young people's views are subject to change significantly in the next decade, potentially in either direction (or otherwise).
