Are you in favor of stopping people from crossing the border illegally? Its a simple question that you could answer yes or no to..
I already answered that. You apparently think that 1000+ miles of border wall at 25 million per mile will be beneficial. We have border walls in high traffic sections, fine. But the primary route of entry is not across remote desert, it is by overstay of legal entry. Maybe we should have a national ID system and search every adult every 10 miles on every road. THAT might eliminate undocumented alien populations. Is that the country you want?

So you weren't paid during those shut downs? How much was your mortgage(s)? How many kids did you have? Did your wife work?

it sounds like what a friend would say to another friend who is sooo unwilling to get his/her life straightened out.. Back in the day, I think they were called 'drinking pals'.

Of course, the one who would have 'said' this would have had his 'act' straight enough to have said this. And what long 'pals' they might have been for them to be this 'close' as buds.

Proverbs 27:17 "Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend."

Pluto once said: 'Be very leery of a man who never says anything 'direct-ly''.

'i can barely see the 'sun' from here and you are saying that there is enough light? Are you sure you are trustworthy'?

I walked in for an interview. It was for a manager's position. I sat, filled out the questionaire, some application papers and submitted it in to the 'one' holding the group introduction for the position. Upon me handing in my papers, he asked, 'Where's your jacket'?

If only someone had told me that a suit consists of 3 or 2, not 1 piece, I might have been called back. And so a valuable lesson was learned. Never take preliminary job introduction 'walk-ins', lightly. Always bring a jacket. Getting on the subway and bus with those clothes.. The pros and cons..

If this was me... I would really reconsider the 'business' field. But then again, this was just a T.V show and not a real 'hiring' event, per se.

I'll tell you what I'm in favor of. Prosecuting employers who use illegal immigrants for work. They are the reason people cross the border anyway. If people can't get work, they won't cross the border.

So, prosecute employers or not? Its a simple yes or no question. But you won't ever say that, will you?

How do you know it's the most expensive?....
You're the one who wants to build a fixed fortification along one border. Prove to me it's the most efficient method of solving illegal immigration and defending our borders. What total cost of this project? Annual costs?

Its very clear that you cannot answer the question whether you are in favor of stopping all illegal aliens from crossing our border. Obviously you are in favor of people crossing the border illegally and that is why you avoid a direct response. Therefore you are not in favor of an effective means of stopping people.. I get it..

Beware of watermelons
I have to admit that I feel some less than honorable satisfaction by denying Trump, the Grate One, anything that he wants so irrationally. Trump has been like a spoiled child on this issue and, even the most enlightened parent, sometimes gains some satisfaction by denying the willful and defiant child the very thing the child wants....

And there it is folks. The honest position of the new american left.

How many more people do you expect to be stopped by the magnificent total border wall beyond the numbers that are stopped now?

Give me a number... because I cannot find a number of how many people attempt cross outside the border crossings where they will be stopped and how many will be stopped in those remote areas with a new wall...

Currently the apparent number captured all along the border is about 300,000 per year (down from about 1,000,000 in 2000) but this includes those stopped at the border crossings as well.

What we know about illegal immigration from Mexico

border crossings.png

Most people are not crossing the border illegally across the desert. They cross legally and overstay visas or jump existing barriers. There are something like 5 million legal crossings per year along the southern border.

That is why I do not want to be forced to answer your question. It is misleading because "illegal immigration" occurs long AFTER crossing the border, not at the border.
Am I in favor of alien registration, tracking and elimination of over-stay, drug importation, crime, unlawful hiring, etc. Sure. But a wall will not change those problems given the dynamics of border crossing.

BTW, Have you looked at the Homeland Security reports on "illegal entry" or "terrorist apprehensions" of the really dangerous people? See
MYTH/FACT: Known and Suspected Terrorists/Special Interest Aliens most of these apprehensions or blocked entry are by attempts to arrive by air.

or the current details of the border: As the government shutdown over Trump's border wall rages, a journey along the entire 1,933-mile US-Mexico border shows the monumental task of securing it
