Thoughts about Horror Movies such as the "Saw" franchise?

Note, I am specifically referring to more plausible/realistic horror movies, such as "Saw", "Hostel", etc. etc.--as opposed to "Nightmare on Elm Street", "Friday the 13th", etc. etc.

All 'good fun & entertainment' or 'utterly deranged & bad'?

The first Saw movie scared me but the follow ups did not because I already knew what was going to happen. However, Leprechaun 2 scared me. Wasp Woman is a good horror flic and there is no Wasp Woman 2.

edit: Giving Honorable Mention to The Attack of the 50 foot Woman which has a realistic plot, a cheating husband and a rich vengeful 50 feet tall wife. She kills her cheating husband and what made her rich and tall was the Star of India, a giant diamond.

Actually, I particularly enjoyed the Saw franchise, especially the first movie. Good, fun entertainment.
