All are welcome to post as much as they like. In fact, you don't need my welcome, we're all completely equal forum members.

However, we who are libertarian and would like to talk about libertarianism will politely but consistently ignore you if you try to take this particular thread an another direction.

We may or may not put you on ignore, but ignore you will will.

Thus, we will be able to enjoy our conversations about libertarianism and also set a set an example of good forum membership by simply ignoring attempts to provoke us.

Dear Statists,

Consider yourself spectators even if you try to participate. As a spectator, you may be surprised to see some fairly rancorous debate among us libertarians.

From your perspective we may seem to all be the same. We debate nuances of our quest for human freedom and that's what we enjoy. We do not judge you for enjoying trying to stop such debate, but we will not help you by responding.

Respectfully,

Seymour

Libertarians, start your engines!

What flaws do you see in the NAP? If you have studied, Indian philosophy you will find that the NAP is similar to Jainism. It works beautifully in but some people are not ready for it and it would be cruelty and aggression to force it on them. Just like forcing a carnivore to eat vegetarian.

Many people do not understand what the free-market is and feel it needs to be regulated. The free market is always perfect and it actually self regulates. Freedom of associate and disassociation always have their place. Let's say I open a restaurant that says "WHITES ONLY". Now doing this could kill my business by alienating a large part of the public who are not White or do not like my business idea. on the other hand, I could have just created a niche market and my establishment could be filled from opening to closing time. It all depends on supply and demand. If there are enough Whites who want to be in an all-White environment then a smart guy would meet that demand regardless of his political feelings.

The free-markets allows equality and is a mirror reflection of untampered reality. Winners survive and losers die, just as in nature.

If anyone objected to the all-white restaurant, they are not helpless in a libertarian system. They have the power of free speech. They can stand off your property and conduct a peaceful protest. They can organize a boycott.

They can open a restaurant next door that serves better quality food to all races and genders. Success is the best revenge.

We have, what fifty years of government efforts to force people to have a completely integrated society and what has it gotten us?

Where do you see all races mixing together peacefully and productively? Malls, restaurants, sporting events, movies. Where do you see buildings in which the people are either almost exclusively of one race or in which there are more than one race but they self-separate and often experience tensions that explode into violence? Public schools.

I was part of another forum that went down and it was an exclusive Libertarian forum. I believe you and a few other folks here were members too. Here is a post I made there that you might remember. As you know I do business all over Asia and was in Vietnam a few months ago and I have to say the free market is very strong there:

Vietnam, though being red is one of the most libertarian politically incorrect countries in the world. This morning, I came across a typical coffee shop with a very libertarian sign looking to hire employees:

The sign reads:

Hiring male or female waiter/waitress
Morning and nights shifts needed
(hours)
Age: 18-25 only
Must have good appearance

And at the very bottom after the contact info it reads in capitals:
SALARY BASED ON APPEARANCE

This seems to be the reality of equality:
We are all equal even though some of us are smart, stupid, beautiful, ugly, strong, weak, rich and poor! Uncle Milton Friedman would love this don't you think? Free to choose!

People in America talk about liberty but most have never experienced any kind of freedom.

This is a lunch stand directly across the street from where I live. The sisters that run it, opened shop right at their house. This is not a licensed restaurant. There is not certification, permits or licensing or taxes or paying people minimum wage to stand around all day. Cash only and eat at your own risk. They serve lunch and at night they turn it into a coffee shop. I have no fear of food poisoning when eating at places like this at all. They are business people and can only stay in business if they provide good quality. They suffer more if I get sick then I do. This is how a free market works I guess.

I had a delicious meal of sauteed wild boar over rice, tangy catfish soup and fresh homebrewed beer on the rocks. This meal cost me a little over $2 USD.

Don't like the family dog sitting next to you while eating? Think this is unhygienic? Then go somewhere else! You are free to!

The streets here have almost no crosswalks or zebra crossings and jay-walking is not against the law and the norm. They used to have crosswalks but decided they were too traffic restrictive and turned most intersections into roundabouts.

After lunch, I sat at a sidewalk cafe (literally on the sidewalk) and a little 4 or 5-year-old boy in school uniform came up to my friend and I asking if if one of uscould take him across the street where his house is. He was adorable

So I just scooped the kid up in my arms and carried him across the street. When I set him down he bowed and very politely thanked me before he skipped away. Fucking adorable! Made me feel like I should get married and have a kid or two of my own!

But then I thought about if the same thing were to just happen back home. Fuck, within 2 minutes I would have the cops, PTA, National Guard, FBI, LA Times, child protective services and the fucken deputy district attorney on my ass along with 50 million smartphones pointing at me!

For taking a kid across the street!

Things back home have changed a lot, haven't they? So maybe I should forget the married with children stuff, no thanks, I'm too scared of the future.

Beer on the rocks. . . . Now there's something you don't see every day. :cheersbeer: :D

SALARY BASED ON APPEARANCE

Can you imagine the outrage and backlash if some business in the US posted this?

It shows how backwards America has become. Yet, many Vietnamese fled their libertarian homeland and came to America.

Our neighbors 2 houses away fled Saigon in 1975.

Well, it gets hot so beer needs ice. Of course, your neighbors fled, it wasn't Libertarian then, it was communist. Everyone from socialist/communist countries flee. from the educated to the boat people.

Liberty has a strange way of sneaking in. The black market becomes the free market and then the free market becomes liberty.

Let me guess, you neighbors are diehard Republicans? You don't vote for more of what you fled from.

Is Vietnam libertarian, now? What about Cambodia?

Or is it like Mexico where they say, "If you don't have enough freedom, you can just buy a little more?"

Cambodia is free-market run too, they just lack quality products. It's more like Mexico without all the diabetes from Jarritos addiction. The women in Vietnam are thin, feminine and super attractive.

None of this stuff there:

girls know they need to look and behave their best to get the best men. They are living in reality.
