The Atlantic: Trump dishes on Ivanka's 'brand'
taking a hit since coming to Washington

Ivanka Trump has struggled to maintain her outward likeability since becoming part of her father, President Donald Trump's, administration, so says a new story in The Atlantic.
Since becoming a polarizing figure in Washington, that aspirational element formerly associated with her has arguably diminished. And the President says he feels badly that his daughter has taken criticism for her work at the White House.

"I think it would've been a lot easier for her if she'd just stayed in New York and did what she was doing," the President told the Atlantic's Elaina Plott in an interview. "That's always tricky, you know, if you have a business and now all of the sudden -- let's say 100% of the people like you, and now all of the sudden you have 50% of the people that love you, but the other 50% of the people, it's less than like."
In the lengthy feature piece, Plott reports Ivanka Trump as acutely aware of her persona, and her "brand," which Trump has cultivated for the past several decades, and which the President's eldest daughter says has taken a hit since being part of the White House.

Though there has been vast public perception that Trump would be and is a moderating force against her father, there is very little evidence of what exactly she has done to tamp down the President's rhetoric, or his political policies.

"During the election, Ivanka never said outright that she supported abortion rights, for example, or was concerned about climate change, yet many people felt sure of both. Ivanka did not offer an opinion on immigration or the need for a border wall, yet the conventional wisdom was that her views must be different from her father's," writes Plott. "She wrote thank-you notes. She spoke in complete sentences. Because she embraced the manners of polite society, she surely embraced its politics, too."

However, Trump has felt all along that his eldest daughter, and second oldest of his five children, behind Donald Trump Jr., is most firmly in his corner. In an Oval Office interview for the story, Trump told Plott: "Barron is young, but he's got wonderful potential. And Tiffany's doing extremely well. Don is, uh, he's enjoying politics; actually, it's very good. And Eric is running the business along with Don, and also very much into politics. I mean, the children -- the children have been very, very good."

But he saved special praise for Ivanka, whom he felt could fill a number of roles in government and diplomacy -- including head of the World Bank and United States Ambassador to the United Nations -- but he said he would have not been able to do so for cries of nepotism. Trump maintains in the story that either way, Ivanka has, by his definition, leadership qualities.
"If she ever wanted to run for president," he said, "I think she'd be very, very hard to beat."

Ivanka Trump is reportedly just as fiercely loyal to her father as he appears to be to her. In an administration rife with turnovers and firings and rampant leaks, she has been a steadfast and influential player.

"She retains a view that her father is good and only good," Plott said Friday morning on CNN's New Day. "If you interpret him to be a certain way, one, she can't acknowledge that the interpretation itself is valid, but, two, thinks what it is speaking to is wrong entirely."

That's not to say everyone in the White House finds Ivanka Trump to be a smart and helpful and reliable part of the mechanisms, according to Plott's reporting. One, in particular, former White House chief of staff John Kelly, was vocal about his disdain for Trump and her husband, another of the President's most trusted advisers.

It was an open secret that Kelly "despised" Ivanka and Jared, and used to say he saw them as "playing government."

Despite the challenges outlined in the story, Ivanka Trump has managed to carve out a portfolio of issues, most of which include helping women entrepreneurs, building a global economic base for women, helping girls find interest in STEM education and careers and working with Congress to secure child tax credit, at which she succeeded, and encouraging paid family leave.

Next week, Ivanka Trump will make a solo trip to Africa, her first as part of the administration, to spread international word of the new Women's Global Development and Prosperity Initiative.

Screw him, screw her and her “brand” !!! Perhaps she may want to look into marketing her jejune, bland and tasteless offerings to the “Real Housewives Of The Rust Belt” or “KKK White Nationalist Wives And Concubines !!!
No self respecting, intelligent, stylish and tasteful woman with even a sliver of class and self awareness would remotely want to be seen wearing her tacky rags.
Her style-less styles will go the way of Trump ties, Trump suits, Trump steaks, Trump vodka, Trump University, etc. etc. etc.

Yes, she was. So is Kim Kardashian and Britney Spears. I don't, personally, believe either should be president of the World Bank, either.
What Howey said was that she can't even run her own company. She is not running it now, and it was successful while she was running it successfully before all this Trump hatred kicked in.

The drop in the sales of her products were due to boycotts which was a direct result of hatred for Trump. What horrible things has she done other than having a father lots of people suddenly had newfound hate for?
